KMIT Admission Dates 2027

KMIT uses TS EAPCET for regular B.Tech admission. The following tentative schedule covers the upcoming 2027-28 admission cycle.

TS EAPCET is the only entrance examination accepted by KMIT for regular B.Tech admission. In 2024, the General Category EAMCET closing ranks for CSE extended from 2,245 to 24,881.

KMIT Courses and Fees

KMIT offers two four-year B.Tech programmes and lateral entry versions of both courses. All options belong to the computer science field. The programmes are affiliated with JNTUH and approved by AICTE, while the main B.Tech courses carry NBA accreditation. Since the institute teaches only these disciplines, its placement support and industry connections are directed towards one academic area.

The general quota fee is lower than the fee charged by several private engineering colleges in Hyderabad when compared with the stated placement results. NRI-sponsored students may apply under the NRI quota. Apart from the 30% of seats designated by Telangana for institution-level admission, KMIT does not offer another management quota.

KMIT Admission Process

Admission to KMIT's regular B.Tech courses is based on TS EAPCET, previously called EAMCET. Centralised TS EAPCET counselling conducted through JNTUH fills 70% of the seats. KMIT directly handles admission to the remaining 30% management quota seats.

B.Tech Admission through TS EAPCET

Applicants must complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The required aggregate is at least 45% for general applicants and 40% for SC and ST applicants.

• Take TS EAPCET and secure a rank.
• Complete counselling registration on the Telangana State Higher Education Portal.
• Enter the preferred colleges and courses during option entry.
• Download the seat allotment letter after a seat is assigned.
• Visit KMIT for certificate verification and payment of the required fee.

For General Category admission to CSE, KMIT's 2024 EAMCET closing ranks ranged from 2,245 to 24,881. CSE with AI and Machine Learning had a comparable cutoff pattern. General Category applicants seeking a KMIT seat should target an EAPCET position within the first 25,000 ranks.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

Diploma holders can enter the second year of B.Tech through the lateral entry route. Applicants need a relevant engineering Diploma with at least 45% marks. Selection is made through TS ECET, the Engineering Common Entrance Test coordinated by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education.

Management Quota

KMIT fills its 30% management quota directly by considering academic merit and the applicant's TS EAPCET score. Students without a seat from centralised counselling may contact the institute during the management admission period, which generally falls between August and September of the applicable admission year.

KMIT Placements

In comparison with its fee level, KMIT has recorded notable placement figures among private engineering institutes in Telangana. The 2024 drive produced 705 job offers from 136 companies, and 511 students secured placements. The reported highest, average and median CTC figures were INR 49.8 LPA, INR 9.69 LPA and INR 7 LPA, respectively.

Among the leading 2024 offers, Microsoft provided INR 54 LPA, Google offered INR 52.2 LPA, Amazon offered INR 44 LPA, ServiceNow offered INR 42.3 LPA and Salesforce offered INR 39.5 LPA. The lowest package that year was INR 3.25 LPA. TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Hexaware, Zensar, Virtusa, Persistent, ADP and SAP were among the mass recruiters. HSBC and Deloitte also hired students from the campus.

KMIT Rankings

KMIT was listed in the national 201 to 300 band for Engineering in the 2024 NIRF rankings. This placed it among the private engineering institutes from Telangana recognised under the NIRF system.

KMIT Campus and Infrastructure

KMIT's 8-acre campus is in Narayanguda, a central Hyderabad neighbourhood served by metro and road connections. The compact campus is designed for technology education and includes computer laboratories, electronics laboratories, physics and chemistry laboratories, and a well-stocked library.

Male and female students can use the institute's hostel accommodation. Campus facilities also include an auditorium, cafeteria, gym, sports complex and medical centre, along with Wi-Fi access. Its central Hyderabad location gives students convenient access to technology companies and industry events across the city.

KMIT vs Vasavi College of Engineering vs Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology

KMIT, Vasavi College of Engineering (VCE) and Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) are commonly considered by TS EAPCET applicants seeking private engineering colleges in Hyderabad within a similar admission tier.

VCE and CBIT were established earlier, operate as autonomous institutes, hold NAAC Grade A+ accreditation and have higher NIRF bands than KMIT. KMIT combines a lower stated fee and a more accessible EAMCET cutoff with strong placement figures. Since all of its placement resources serve computer science students, it suits applicants focused on CSE. Students who want a wider range of engineering branches may prefer VCE or CBIT.
