GRIET Admission Process

GRIET fills B.Tech seats through two routes. TSCHE centralised counselling allocates 70% of seats under the convener quota using TS EAPCET ranks, while the institute directly fills the remaining 30% as management seats. Lateral-entry and M.Tech admissions use the relevant state counselling processes.

B.Tech Admission

  1. For the convener quota, students must complete Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtain at least 45% in aggregate.
  2. Students seeking a convener seat must take TS EAPCET and participate in TSCHE online counselling. Seat allotment is based on the TS EAPCET merit rank.
  3. For the management quota, students can apply directly to GRIET with a TS EAPCET or JEE Main score. No capitation fee has been documented.
  4. Diploma holders seeking admission directly to the second year must have a qualification in the relevant branch. Selection takes place through TS ECET and TSCHE counselling.

The Telangana government Tuition Fee Reimbursement scheme covers full tuition for eligible BC, SC and ST students whose family income is below INR 1 LPA.

For CSE, GRIET has regularly appeared among the top 10 convener-quota choices in the Hyderabad area. The CSE and AI&ML branches have the most competitive EAPCET cutoffs, while Civil and Mechanical Engineering admit students at more accessible ranks.

M.Tech Admission

Applicants need a B.Tech or B.E. in a relevant discipline with at least 50% marks. GATE-qualified applicants receive preference and weightage during TS PGECET counselling. If seats remain vacant after TSCHE counselling, GRIET may fill them through the management quota using GATE or TS PGECET scores.

GRIET Placements

Google offered the highest package of INR 51.6 LPA during GRIET placements in 2025. In total, 86 companies made 1,016 offers. CSE and ECE accounted for a large share of the opportunities, with IT and product companies making most of the offers. The lowest package for core engineering and non-technical roles was INR 3 LPA.
