THE UCTIAN

What I Liked

The knowledge cafe is the place where I often spend my time in the college.
The student lounge in the entrance of the college.
The chemical engineering laboratories where you get immense practical knowledge.

What I didn’t like

The college timings are one of the things I dislike. You have theory class from 9ap to 1 pm and labs from 1:40 pm to 4:40 pm and you get a break for lunch for 40 minutes.
I dislike the hectic schedule off the academics.

Placement Experience:

Your qualifications other than academics and your GPA to some extent are the criteria for placement. The college has a placement cell headed by faculty and student coordinators. Last year students secured jobs in companies like L&T, Aditya Birla Group, haiku education, Dr. Reddy's, Cipla and others. The highest package received is 7.5 LPA and the average package would be around 3.5 LPA. Around 50% of students are getting placements every year. The remaining students either go for master's or prepare for PSU or other government jobs. I would go for a master's after my Btech.

Internships Opportunities:

I have done an internship at Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited. As I was in my second year, I was not allowed to use the resources on a full scale. You have to do a mandatory internship in your third year. I am doing a project on hydrogen fuel technology.

The tale of UCT OU

What I Liked

I like the natural greenery in my college and of course campus life.
Our faculty are friendly in nature and very supportive .

What I didn’t like

Our college hostel facilities are not up to the mark
Our college is not yet recognized internationally.

Placement Experience:

Placements are given to the students who passed in all subjects . Around 50 percentage students are getting placed every year. Average package is around 3 l.p.a few of the companies are L&T, Pinnacle,Eastman Chemicals etc.

Internships Opportunities:

Yes I have opted for internship in Nuclear Fuel Complex. Department of Atomic Energy at Hyderabad . Though there is no stipend but a huge amount of knowledge is gained . The college itself gives the internships through placement cell
