JNTUH College of Engineering Admission Process

Admission depends on the entrance test assigned to each programme. TS EAPCET is used for regular B.Tech and IDD, while diploma students seeking lateral entry must take TS ECET. M.Tech applicants can use GATE or TS PGECET, and MCA applicants need a TS ICET rank. Seat allotment for these courses takes place through the relevant TGCHE counselling process.

B.Tech and IDD Admission

Applicants need Physics and Mathematics in Class 12 and an aggregate score of at least 45%. The minimum is 40% for reserved categories. Telangana-local applicants are considered within the local-area quota, while 15% of seats are available to non-local candidates. Both B.Tech and IDD allotments use TS EAPCET ranks and TGCHE's online counselling system.

  • Take TS EAPCET, which is held annually in May, after applying through tgeapcet.nic.in.
  • Complete TGCHE counselling registration and attend certificate verification.
  • Enter college and branch preferences through web options during the three counselling phases.
  • After receiving an allotment, report to JNTUH College of Engineering with the original documents on the assigned reporting day.

For the OC (General) category in 2025, the TS EAPCET closing rank was 1,228 for CSE, 1,614 for CSE AI and ML and 4,711 for ECE. A general-category student targeting CSE should aim to rank within the first 1,500. The same TS EAPCET counselling procedure applies to IDD courses.

M.Tech Admission

A relevant B.Tech or BE degree with at least 50% is required for M.Tech. SC/ST applicants need 45%. TGCHE PG counselling accepts either a GATE score or a TS PGECET rank, but GATE-qualified applicants receive preference during allotment. Those admitted through GATE merit can also receive the AICTE stipend of INR 12,400 per month throughout the programme.

MCA Admission

MCA seats are allotted through TGCHE counselling according to TS ICET rank. Applicants must have studied Mathematics and completed graduation with at least 50%.
