DVR & Dr. HS MIC College of Technology (MIC-CT) began in 2002 as a private engineering college in Kanchikacherla, N.T.R District, Andhra Pradesh. The college is permanently affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK). UGC granted it autonomous status in 2018. AICTE, New Delhi, has approved the institution, which is promoted by MIC Electronics Limited, Hyderabad, through the Devineni Ramana and Praneetha Memorial Trust.

MIC-CT received a NAAC A+ grade with a score of 3.4 out of 4.0, effective from 2024. Its B.Tech programmes in CSE, ECE and Mechanical Engineering have NBA accreditation, and the institution holds ISO 9001:2015 certification. Although it submits information to NIRF, it is not currently included in the published NIRF Engineering ranking list.

The co-educational campus is on NH-9, the Vijayawada-Hyderabad Highway, and has separate hostels for male and female students. MIC-CT has more than 200 faculty members and a total UG and PG enrolment of 3,830 students. The four-year B.Tech fee is INR 1.64 Lakhs, while MBA and MCA cost INR 71,950 each. MIC College of Technology Admission Process

MIC-CT does not hold its own entrance test. Admission is completed through the relevant Andhra Pradesh state counselling system. As an autonomous institution, the college may frame its internal eligibility rules within the wider requirements set by JNTUK and the state.

B.Tech Admission

For regular B.Tech admission, students need a valid AP EAPCET rank. They must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and obtain at least 45% in aggregate. The minimum is 40% for reserved-category applicants.

  • Take AP EAPCET and obtain a valid rank.
  • Complete AP EAPCET web counselling registration through the APSCHE portal.
  • Enter preferred colleges and branches during online choice filling.
  • Wait for allotment, which depends on rank, category and available seats.
  • Bring the original documents to MIC-CT and pay the required fee after receiving a seat.

Past closing ranks have differed considerably between branches. CSE and AI-ML generally require stronger ranks. In earlier cycles, open-category students with AP EAPCET ranks as high as 80,000 to 1,00,000 obtained seats in most B.Tech branches.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

Students with a Diploma in engineering or technology can seek direct entry to the second year through AP ECET. Applicants need a valid AP ECET rank and a Diploma in a suitable branch.

MBA and MCA Admission

AP ICET counselling is used for both MBA and MCA admission. An MBA applicant must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50%. MCA applicants may have any undergraduate degree, but they must have studied Mathematics at either the 10+2 or undergraduate level. APSCHE conducts separate postgraduate counselling after announcing AP ICET results.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech selection uses GATE-based counselling, while candidates from Andhra Pradesh may also enter with an AP PGECET rank. The examination score must relate to the relevant engineering discipline. Under JNTUK rules, applicants without a GATE or AP PGECET score may be considered for self-financed seats.

MIC College of Technology Placements

Companies from the IT and services industries form the main group of recruiters at MIC-CT. Campus drives for recent batches have involved TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant and Genpact. The institution's NIRF 2025 submission records the following outcomes for three B.Tech graduating batches.

Graduating BatchStudents GraduatedStudents PlacedMedian Salary, NIRF
2023-24633295INR 2.38 LPA
2022-23572257INR 3.50 LPA
2021-22574332INR 3.70 LPA
Note: These NIRF figures cover only the students included in the institution's NIRF report. MIC-CT separately states a recent highest package of INR 20 LPA and an average package of INR 4.25 LPA. Those two figures are reported by the college and are not independently confirmed under the NIRF system.

Some graduates choose higher education instead of immediate employment, which helps explain the difference between the number graduating and the number placed. Placement activity is highest in CSE, ECE and AI-ML. Another route taken by alumni is qualifying through GATE for M.Tech study at NITs and IITs.

MIC College of Technology Scholarships

Eligible students from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Class and Economically Weaker Section groups can receive fee reimbursement through the Andhra Pradesh Fee Reimbursement Scheme, administered by the AP Social Welfare Department. NIRF 2025 data shows that 2,283 of the college's 3,447 UG students received full tuition reimbursement from state or central government funding.

SchemeEligibilityCoverage

Top AP EAPCET rank holders may also qualify for merit scholarships when they join the college. Students should ask the MIC-CT admission office to confirm the terms that will apply before the 2027-28 admission cycle begins.

MIC College of Technology Campus and Infrastructure

MIC-CT occupies a campus beside NH-9, the Vijayawada-Hyderabad Highway, at Kanchikacherla. Vijayawada is 40 km away, while the highway also provides road access towards Hyderabad. Academic facilities include individual laboratories for the B.Tech departments, an engineering workshop, seminar halls and a central library with digital learning resources. NIRF data records expenditure of INR 24.98 Lakhs in 2023-24 on new laboratory equipment and software.

Male and female students have separate hostel buildings, with annual charges of up to INR 22,000. The college's NIRF submission states that more than 80% of its buildings provide ramps, lifts and purpose-built facilities for students with physical disabilities. Students can also use a sports complex for physical education activities.

Research work by faculty members and students led to the publication of more than 20 patents in 2023, including 3 granted patents. The central library contains books, journals and electronic resources, and its dedicated expenditure during 2023-24 was INR 1.49 Lakhs.

MIC College of Technology vs PVPSIT vs LBRCE

Students looking at private engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna and NTR districts may compare MIC-CT with Prasad V. Potluri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, or PVPSIT, in Vijayawada and Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of Engineering, or LBRCE, in Mylavaram. Each is a private, autonomous, AICTE-approved institution affiliated with JNTUK.
