GEC Admission Dates 2027

GEC Courses and Fees

GEC has a combined B.Tech intake of 1,200 seats across nine specialisations. It also runs five M.Tech specialisations and an MBA programme. Its autonomous status allows the college to design its curriculum, while the degrees are issued by JNTUK. The fees listed here cover the entire course.

At INR 2.98 Lakhs, the B.Tech fee is among the lower fees charged by private engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The fee reflects the state government's regulation of JNTUK-affiliated private colleges. CSE and IT attract the highest demand, followed by Artificial Intelligence and Data Science programmes.

GEC Admission Process

Most seats at GEC are allotted through APSCHE's centralised counselling. The college directly fills a smaller share under the management quota. This system is followed by JNTUK-affiliated private engineering colleges across Andhra Pradesh.

B.Tech Admission

Applicants seeking B.Tech admission must meet these conditions:

• Pass 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
• Obtain at least 45% aggregate marks, or 40% for reserved categories
• Hold a valid AP EAPCET rank or JEE Main score

The counselling and admission steps are:

• Take AP EAPCET, which is conducted by APSCHE
• Use a qualifying rank to register for APSCHE Web Counselling
• Enter preferred colleges and branches during online choice filling
• Receive an allotment according to category rank and the submitted preference order
• Complete self-reporting and document verification at the allotted college

GEC directly handles management and NRI quota admissions. Students can apply online through gecgudlavalleru.ac.in by paying a non-refundable application fee of INR 1,000.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

Diploma holders in the relevant engineering field can seek direct entry to the second year through AP ECET. They must have at least 45% in their diploma. APSCHE also conducts the centralised seat allotment for lateral entry.

M.Tech and MBA

For M.Tech, applicants need a B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline and a valid GATE or AP PGECET score. MBA selection uses ICET, MAT or CAT scores and is processed through APSCHE. Both courses have a limited intake, with seats allotted through the same APSCHE centralised system.

GEC Placements

Across all departments, GEC placed 1,122 students from the Class of 2026. CSE recorded the largest number with 236 placements. IT contributed 166, Mechanical Engineering 149, ECE 139 and EEE 122. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science recorded 93 placements, while Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning recorded 92.

Amazon, IBM, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Accenture, L&T, Deloitte and ICICI were among the major recruiters. Hiring initiatives linked with Oracle Academy and Microsoft also operate at the college. GEC maintains active MOUs with technology companies and international organisations, including IUCEE and Cisco.

Historically, 90% of eligible graduates have been placed. NIRF-reported figures put the average package at INR 4 to 4.5 LPA, with CSE and IT students generally receiving higher offers. Students from core engineering branches use both campus recruitment and GATE-based routes to postgraduate study.

GEC Scholarships

AP EAPCET-qualified students who meet the income rules can receive tuition support through the Andhra Pradesh government fee reimbursement scheme. GEC also provides scholarships based on academic performance and financial need.

GEC Campus and Infrastructure

GEC has a residential campus in Gudlavalleru, Krishna District, located 40 km from Vijayawada. Academic buildings, separate hostels, recreation spaces and a central library form part of the self-contained complex. These facilities serve more than 4,885 students and 400+ faculty members.

Each department has laboratories set up according to AICTE norms. Other academic facilities include a central computing centre and seminar halls. Partnerships with Oracle Academy, Microsoft and Cisco support laboratory certification and specialised training. Students can also take part in the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Innovation Club, technical groups and cultural bodies.

Boys and girls can use on-campus hostel facilities. The residential amenities include a multi-cuisine mess, gymnasium and recreation facilities. GEC also conducts a PhD guidance programme and serves as a regional centre for engineering research in the Krishna-Guntur corridor.

GEC vs VR Siddhartha Engineering College vs Bapatla Engineering College

Students from Krishna, Guntur and nearby Andhra Pradesh districts often compare GEC Gudlavalleru with VR Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) in Vijayawada and Bapatla Engineering College (BEC) in Bapatla. The three private engineering colleges are affiliated with JNTUK, have NBA accreditation and attract applicants from the same AP engineering pool.

VRSEC combines a city location in Vijayawada with a NAAC A+ grade, which may interest students focused on infrastructure and a broader placement base. GEC offers the flexibility of an autonomous curriculum and includes newer options such as IoT and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in its course range. BEC serves students in the Guntur corridor and holds Tier-I NBA accreditation for core engineering branches.
