A private autonomous college, RVR and JC College of Engineering was established in 1985. AICTE approved, the college is affiliated to the Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur. The Week ranked the college at 68 for BTech in 2024, while Times of India ranked it at 33 for Btech, in the same year.

RVR and JC College of Engineering offer BTech in eleven specialisations. The candidate should have cleared 12th with Physics, Maths and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Selection of candidates is based on EAMCET Scores. The EAMCET or Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test is an online examination conducted by Jawahar Lal Nehru Technological University Kakinada. The total intake of this course is 1620 seats. The total fees of this four-year program is Rs 3.05 Lakhs.
Besides BTech, RVR and JC College of Engineering courses include MBA, MTech and MCA. Admissions are based on entrance exams.

The college awards scholarships to students with Family income less than Rs. 1,00,000/-. In 2024, 277 students were awarded scholarships. The sum total of the scholarships, overall, was Rs 55.40 Lakhs.

RVC and JC College of Engineering Placements 2024 completed successfully. A total of 70 companies participated in the placement drive. The highest CTC offered was INR 25 LPA, while the average package was recorded at INR 4.73 LPA. A total of 753 jobs were offered by companies like Flipkart, CapGemini, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, TATA Consultancy Services, Muthoot Housing Finance, and Accenture.
