GMRIT Admission Dates 2026

Current admission activity covers the closing APSCHE counselling stages and direct applications for management quota seats. GMRIT uses AP EAPCET for regular B.Tech admission, AP ECET for lateral entry, and GATE or AP PGECET for M.Tech admission.

APSCHE web counselling fills 70% of B.Tech seats under the state quota according to AP EAPCET rank. M.Tech applicants take part in APSCHE counselling using either a GATE score or an AP PGECET rank.

GMRIT Courses and Fees

Students can pursue B.Tech, B.Tech Lateral Entry, M.Tech, or Ph.D programmes at GMRIT. The regular B.Tech lasts four years and covers 10 branches. Computing and AI programmes carry higher fees than most core engineering branches. The table lists the total programme fees under the 2026 schedule.

IT has the highest four-year B.Tech fee at INR 12.57 Lakhs. EEE, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Power Engineering each cost INR 6.57 Lakhs. All M.Tech specialisations have a total fee of INR 1.54 Lakhs, and students admitted with GATE qualification receive an AICTE stipend during the programme.

GMRIT Admission Process

GMRIT fills B.Tech seats through two routes. AP EAPCET-based APSCHE counselling covers the 70% state quota, while the institute directly admits students to the remaining 30% Category B management quota.

B.Tech Admission

• State Quota (70%): Applicants need at least 45% in PCM at the 10+2 level and a valid AP EAPCET rank. Seat allotment takes place through APSCHE web counselling.
• Management Quota, Non-NRI (15%): Students with 45% in 10+2 PCM may apply directly to the GMRIT admissions office. Category B admission does not require an entrance examination.
• Management Quota, NRI (15%): NRI-sponsored applicants with at least 45% in 10+2 PCM can submit their applications at gmrit.edu.in.

Eligible state-quota students may claim tuition reimbursement through the Andhra Pradesh government's Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme. AP EAPCET competition is generally stronger for CSE, AI and Data Science, and ECE. Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Power Engineering are usually available at comparatively lower ranks.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

A diploma holder with a 45% aggregate may seek direct admission to the second year of B.Tech. Selection uses AP ECET rank through APSCHE counselling. Eight branches are available, and lateral seats follow the same management quota arrangement.

M.Tech Admission

• Applicants must have a B.Tech or an equivalent qualification with at least 60% in the relevant field.
• Admission requires a valid GATE score or AP PGECET rank.
• APSCHE holds separate counselling rounds for GATE-qualified and AP PGECET-qualified students.
• GATE scholars receive an AICTE stipend of INR 12,400 per month throughout M.Tech.

Ph.D Admission

Ph.D applicants must hold an M.Tech or equivalent qualification with first-class marks in the relevant discipline. They also need a valid GATE, UGC-NET, or CSIR-NET score, or must qualify through the GMRIT Research Entrance Test.

GMRIT Placements

For B.Tech, GMRIT reports a median placement salary of INR 3.6 LPA. Offered packages range between INR 2.5 LPA and INR 8 LPA. The Training and Placement Cell works with employers from IT services, manufacturing, and core engineering sectors.

TCS, GMR Group, Polaris, Genpact, HCL, IBM, and Hyundai are among the confirmed recruiters. Through the GMR Foundation, GMR Group sponsors the institute and also hires eligible graduates for positions in its aviation and infrastructure businesses.

The median salary for M.Tech graduates is INR 4.6 LPA. Placement interest is strongest in the CSE and VLSI Design specialisations. GATE-qualified students receive the AICTE stipend while studying and are particularly sought for embedded systems and VLSI design positions.

GMRIT Rankings

GMRIT Scholarships

GMRIT Campus and Infrastructure

GMRIT occupies 117 acres in Rajam, Srikakulam district, at a distance of 150 km from Visakhapatnam. Its academic structure comprises the School of Advanced Computing, School of Applied Engineering, School of Physical Sciences, and School of Commerce. Each institution accepts AP EAPCET for B.Tech and holds a NAAC "A" grade. Their main differences concern location and institutional status.

As a Deemed-to-be University, GMRIT has more academic independence and greater Ph.D research capacity than JNTU-K-affiliated SVEC. In The Week's 2025 state ranking, GMRIT was 3rd among private engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Vignan's University serves students seeking an option in the Guntur-Krishna corridor, while SVEC is located for candidates from the East Godavari region.
