REC Visakhapatnam Courses and Fees

REC Visakhapatnam has undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses. Students can choose from nine B.Tech branches and six M.Tech specialisations. The college keeps the B.Tech fee the same for every branch, including CSE, AI and ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, and IoT.

The annual B.Tech fee is INR 80,800. Lateral entry students pay the same yearly amount for three years instead of four, so their total fee is lower by INR 80,800. The M.Tech annual fee is INR 50,000, which is 38% below the B.Tech annual fee.

REC Visakhapatnam Admission Process

REC admits students through state-level counselling and direct admission routes. B.Tech admission has a 70% convener quota through AP EAPCET and a 30% management quota. Students applying through AP EAPCET do not need to appear for any separate entrance test conducted by REC.

B.Tech Admission (AP EAPCET Convener Quota)

For B.Tech convener quota seats, students need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The minimum required aggregate is 45%, while SC, ST, and OBC students need 40%. Seats are allotted only by rank through APSCHE centralised counselling.

The steps for convener quota admission are:

• Check the AP EAPCET 2026 rank on the APSCHE results portal
• Attend certificate verification at an APSCHE Helpline Centre
• Submit web options on the APSCHE counselling portal and choose REC using the EAPCET college code RAGU
• Accept the allotted seat and report to REC with original documents before the deadline

B.Tech Admission (Management Quota)

REC fills 30% of B.Tech seats through the management quota. This includes 15% NRI quota seats and 15% non-NRI quota seats. An EAPCET rank is not needed for this route. Students apply directly through the REC admissions portal at admissions.raghuenggcollege.com. Management quota fees follow APFRC norms and are higher than the convener quota fee.

B.Tech Lateral Entry (AP ECET)

Students with a relevant engineering diploma and B.Sc graduates with Mathematics can enter the second year of B.Tech through lateral entry. Selection is based on AP ECET rank and APSCHE ECET counselling.

M.Tech Admission

For M.Tech convener quota seats, students need a valid GATE or AP PGECET score. Category A seats are filled through APSCHE PG counselling. GATE-qualified students may also get a Teaching Assistantship stipend. For M.Tech management quota seats, REC considers marks in the qualifying degree.

REC Visakhapatnam Placements

REC Visakhapatnam recorded a highest package of INR 45.5 LPA in the 2025-26 placement cycle. The UG median salary was INR 7.50 LPA, while the PG median salary for M.Tech students was INR 5.60 LPA. More than 128 companies visited the campus in 2025-26, and the college reported 6,887 placements from 2022 to 2026.

CSE, ECE, and AI and ML receive most of the campus offers. Mechanical and Civil Engineering students also look at public sector jobs and contract roles along with campus placements. REC has a 50-acre campus at Dakamarri, Bheemunipatnam Mandal, 30 km from Visakhapatnam city and close to the coast. Students get 24x7 Wi-Fi, a cafeteria, gymnasium, medical centre, ATM, secure parking, and a water treatment plant on campus.

The academic facilities include branch-wise engineering labs, a MATLAB lab, computer science and networking labs, a central library, and an auditorium. Since REC is a JNTU-GV Research Centre, doctoral research can be pursued on campus. NBA-accredited labs in CSE, ECE, Mechanical, and Civil support the academic work of these departments.

REC Visakhapatnam Scholarships

REC supports high-ranking AP EAPCET students through college-level merit scholarships. AP-domicile students may also use state government fee support schemes. For eligible students, REC scholarships and government reimbursement together can cover the B.Tech tuition fee.

Students with an AP EAPCET rank below 3000 can receive the 100% REC merit scholarship. If they also meet the AP state fee reimbursement rules, their B.Tech tuition cost can be almost fully covered. Government scholarship applications must be submitted through the AP e-Pass portal during admission for timely release of funds.
