JNMC Wardha Courses and Fees

JNMC Wardha provides undergraduate, postgraduate, super-specialty, fellowship and research programmes. The following general-quota amounts are based on the 2026 fee schedule issued by DMIHER.

Fees for popular clinical MD branches, including General Medicine, Radiodiagnosis and Dermatology, range from INR 161.63 Lakhs to INR 183.69 Lakhs. Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology and Microbiology are among the pre-clinical MD subjects charged at INR 11.10 Lakhs. These subjects can suit students planning careers in medical teaching or research.

JNMC Wardha Admission Process

Entrance exam performance and the relevant counselling process determine admission to JNMC Wardha. MCC handles deemed university counselling for MBBS, MD, MS, PG Diploma, DM and M.Ch seats. DMIHER conducts university-level selection for M.Sc Medical Sciences, PhD and fellowship programmes.

MBBS Admission

Admission to all 250 MBBS seats is based on NEET UG, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency. Every seat is included in the MCC Deemed University counselling pool, and JNMC does not have a state-quota allocation.

• Eligibility: Students must complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The minimum aggregate is 50% for the General category and 40% for SC, ST and OBC categories under NTA rules. A valid qualifying NEET UG score is also required.
• Age requirement: The student must be at least 17 years old on December 31 of the admission year.
• Selection stages: The process covers NEET UG rank preparation, MCC Deemed registration and fee payment, choice filling and locking, provisional seat allotment, document checks at JNMC Wardha, fee deposit and final confirmation of admission.

NRI-quota applicants use the same NEET UG admission route, but the full programme fee is INR 150.41 Lakhs. JNMC's General-category closing score is competitive among deemed medical colleges, in line with its NIRF rank of 20. MCC publishes the official closing scores for each counselling round.

MD/MS Admission

NEET PG is the qualifying examination for postgraduate medical admission. MCC centrally counsels all deemed university PG seats, including 100% of the MD and MS seats offered by JNMC Wardha.

• Eligibility: Applicants need an MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised institution, a valid qualifying NEET PG score and completion of the compulsory one-year rotatory internship.
• Disciplines: The college has more than 210 seats across 21 MD and MS disciplines. Choices range from Anatomy and Biochemistry to General Medicine, General Surgery, Radiodiagnosis and Dermatology.
• Selection stages: Admission involves securing a NEET PG merit rank, registering with MCC, filling and locking choices, receiving a provisional allotment, completing document verification and joining the college.

Radiodiagnosis and Dermatology generally draw applicants with higher NEET PG percentiles than pre-clinical branches. MCC releases speciality-wise closing scores for JNMC after each round of deemed university counselling.

DM/M.Ch and Fellowship Admission

MCC fills the DM and M.Ch super-specialty seats through NEET SS counselling. JNMC's DM subjects include Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Nephrology, Critical Care Medicine, Interventional Radiology and Medical Oncology. Neuro-Surgery and Urology are available under M.Ch. Fellowship applicants must hold an MD or MS in the relevant parent speciality and complete DMIHER's university-level selection process.

M.Sc and PhD Admission

DMIHER's university entrance test is used for M.Sc Medical Sciences and PhD selection. The programmes extend across more than 30 medical disciplines. A relevant B.Sc or MBBS background is necessary for M.Sc admission. PhD applicants must have an MD, MS or M.Sc in the appropriate discipline and a valid DMIHER entrance score.

Entrance Exams and Counselling

JNMC Wardha Placements and Career Outcomes

JNMC Wardha does not follow the usual campus placement model. After MBBS, graduates commonly prepare for NEET PG or begin clinical practice. Training at AVBRH gives students experience in a hospital with more than 2,500 beds and a substantial rural disease burden. This clinical exposure covers varied patient presentations and also supports NEET PG preparation.

A large share of MBBS graduates take NEET PG after finishing their compulsory one-year internship at AVBRH. Students who qualify and enter MD/MS courses in government medical colleges receive stipends of INR 70,000 to INR 80,000 per month. Before qualifying for NEET PG, graduates joining mid-sized private hospitals in Maharashtra or nearby states usually begin at INR 55,000 to INR 70,000 per month.

After postgraduate study, specialists in fields such as Radiodiagnosis, Cardiology and Neuro-surgery may receive INR 1.20 Lakhs to INR 2.50 Lakhs per month in private hospitals located in metro cities. JNMC also runs DM and M.Ch courses on its campus, allowing eligible postgraduate doctors to continue into super-specialty training without moving to a larger city.

JNMC Wardha Rankings

JNMC Wardha is placed among India's top 20 medical colleges in the confirmed NIRF Medical ranking.

The overall NIRF score of 62.37 combines five assessment areas. JNMC received 77.68 for Teaching and Learning Resources, 72.78 for Graduation Outcomes and 70.51 for Outreach and Inclusivity. Its scores were lower for Research and Professional Practice at 16.63 and Perception at 17.88. This scoring pattern is common among medical colleges in smaller cities where research funding channels are limited.

JNMC Wardha Campus and Infrastructure

JNMC occupies a 122-acre campus at Sawangi (Meghe), located 8 kilometres from Wardha city. The medical college, nursing college, physiotherapy school and allied health sciences departments are arranged together around AVBRH.

Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital is JNMC's main clinical teaching centre and has more than 2,500 beds. Patients come from Vidarbha and Marathwada, exposing students to tropical illnesses, agricultural injuries and rural health conditions that occur less often in metro teaching hospitals. Practical training is supported from the first year through emergency services, intensive care units and speciality clinics.

Students have access to a central library and information centre, Wi-Fi in academic buildings, a gymnasium, sports complex, auditorium, canteen, IT centres and bank branches within the campus. Separate hostels are provided for boys and girls at INR 1.52 to INR 1.86 Lakhs per year. Transport between the campus and Wardha city is available for day scholars and students from outside the area.

JNMC Wardha Scholarships

Eligible JNMC students can seek financial assistance through DMIHER's institutional award and government-backed scholarship programmes. The main institutional scheme uses a merit test held when students enter the MBBS course.

Reserved-category students admitted through the government quota should submit applications for the DTE Maharashtra and National Scholarship Portal schemes as soon as they join. Category and quota do not restrict participation in the APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship Test, which is available to all newly enrolled JNMC MBBS students.

JNMC Wardha vs MGIMS Wardha vs D Y Patil Medical College Pune

JNMC Wardha, MGIMS Wardha and D Y Patil Medical College Pune attract many of the same NEET UG-qualified students considering private or deemed institutions in Central and Western Maharashtra. Their main differences involve location, fees, MBBS intake, hospital size and campus setting.

JNMC Wardha has the highest NIRF position, MBBS intake, NAAC grade and teaching hospital capacity among the three. MGIMS Wardha follows a Gandhian charitable mission model and has a lower fee range, which may appeal to students focused on cost and the Sevagram setting. D Y Patil Medical College Pune may suit students from Pune or Western Maharashtra who want an urban campus. The best choice depends on the student's budget, preferred location and required programme because none of the colleges leads on every factor.
