IIM Bodh Gaya Admission Dates 2027

CAT 2026 is the main examination for admission to the 2027-29 MBA batch and will be held on November 29, 2026. Its result is expected in late December 2026. IIM Bodh Gaya will conduct shortlisting and the WAT-PI process after the result.

CAT is the only entrance examination accepted for MBA selection at IIM Bodh Gaya. Applicants cannot enter an MBA course through direct admission or a management quota. Selection requirements for the institute's other courses are listed below.

IIM Bodh Gaya Courses and Fees

The institute's academic options include three full-time MBA tracks, a 5-year integrated BBA+MBA, an Executive MBA, an executive doctoral course and short-term executive certificates. The amounts shown are from its official 2026 fee schedule.

The MBA follows a trimester system and is completed over six terms. For General Management, the first-year charge is INR 9.91 Lakhs and the second-year charge is INR 9.61 Lakhs. Tuition does not differ by admission category. Reservation benefits apply during admission, but students in every category pay the same fee.

IIM Bodh Gaya Admission Process

MBA Admission

Admission to each of the three MBA tracks depends on CAT performance and the IIM Common Admission Process, which covers a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). There is no management quota. Using the 2026-28 batch as the reference, General category applicants need an overall CAT cutoff of 95 percentile and at least 75 percentile in every section.

1. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate marks. The minimum is 45% for SC, ST and PwD applicants.
2. Candidates are shortlisted through their CAT scores and academic profiles. Work experience accounts for 10 of the 25 marks available for the academic profile component.
3. Shortlisted applicants take the WAT and PI at designated IIM CAP centres across India.
4. The final score combines the weighted CAT score, academic profile, WAT result and PI performance. Reservation rules of the Government of India apply to NC-OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PwD categories.

For the 2024-26 batch, the institute selected 11,029 candidates for the next stage from 1,54,932 General category CAT applicants. This equals a shortlisting rate of 7.1%.

EMBA and PhD Admission

Applicants to the EMBA need at least 5 years of managerial experience. CAT is not required, as selection is based on the application and an interview. For the Ph.D. (Executive), applicants need a postgraduate degree and strong research aptitude. IIM Bodh Gaya evaluates them through its own written test and interview. Part-time or hybrid schedules are used for both courses so that working professionals can participate.

Every student across the three MBA tracks was placed during the 2026 season for the 2024-26 batch. The institute's best-ever offer was INR 45.63 LPA. Average CTC increased from INR 13.90 LPA in the previous listed batch to INR 14.80 LPA.

Deloitte, PwC, Capgemini, ICICI Bank, HSBC, BNY Mellon, NSE, Reliance Retail and HCL Tech are among the recruiters that have recently hired from the institute. Finance and Consulting provide the strongest placement opportunities, while IT and FMCG also account for notable offers.

IIM Bodh Gaya Rankings

In the NIRF 2025 Management ranking, IIM Bodh Gaya stands at 31 and is Bihar's highest-ranked management institution. Its position improved from 33 in 2024.

IIM Bodh Gaya Scholarships

Meritorious students from families with lower incomes can seek need-based financial support from IIM Bodh Gaya. Its main form of assistance is the NBFA scheme.

Students can also seek bank funding through the IBA Model Education Loan Scheme, under which the complete tuition fee at IIMs may be covered. The institute helps enrolled students prepare their loan documents. Students from SC, ST, OBC and EWS categories may additionally apply for the relevant Government of India scholarship schemes.

IIM Bodh Gaya Campus and Infrastructure

The institute operates from its developing permanent campus in Bodh Gaya, within Bihar's Gaya district. It is located near the Mahabodhi Temple Complex, one of the world's most sacred Buddhist locations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Sambalpur and IIM Sirmaur were established in 2015 through the same government effort to expand the IIM network into underserved states. Students scoring between 90 and 97 percentile in CAT commonly submit applications to all three institutes.

Among these institutes, IIM Bodh Gaya has the strongest NIRF 2025 position at 31, compared with 34 for IIM Sambalpur and 51 for IIM Sirmaur. It also leads their placement outcomes with a highest CTC of INR 45.63 LPA. IIM Sambalpur attracts a different applicant group through its rural and agribusiness management focus. IIM Sirmaur's emphasis on sustainability and environment management can suit students planning careers in CSR and the green economy.
