The three M.Tech branches together have 85 seats. CSE and AI and Data Science each have 30 seats, while VLSI Design has 25 seats. C-DAC assigns the national PG Diploma capacity separately for each batch, so the number of seats can differ by specialisation.

CDAC Noida Admission Process

The admission method depends on the type of programme. PG Diploma applicants take C-CAT and receive a seat through C-DAC's central allotment system. Applicants for M.Tech, MCA and MBA must participate in GGSIPU's centralised counselling.

C-CAT Route for PG Diploma Courses

C-CAT is a national entrance examination organised twice a year for admission to the February and August batches. Every six-month PG Diploma programme at CDAC Noida uses this route.

  • Applicants must have a B.E., B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc in CS, IT or Electronics, or an equivalent qualification, with at least 60% aggregate marks. Students in the final year of the qualifying course may also apply.
  • The test has Category 1 with Paper A, Category 2 with Papers A and B, and Category 3 with Papers A, B and C. Depending on the chosen specialisation, CDAC Noida applicants must take Category 2 or Category 3.
  • Students first register at cdac.in and take C-CAT. They then enter their preferred C-DAC centres and courses, wait for the allotment result, and pay the required fee to accept the seat.
  • C-DAC awards every seat centrally according to merit and the submitted preferences. Direct admission and management-quota admission are not available.

GGSIPU Route for M.Tech, MCA and MBA

Seats in the degree programmes are treated as constituent-college seats of GGSIPU and are filled through the university's centralised counselling process.

  • For M.Tech, applicants need a B.Tech or B.E. in CS, IT, ECE or EE with at least 60% marks. A valid GATE score is preferred for AI and Data Science and VLSI Design.
  • MCA applicants must hold a degree in any stream, have studied Mathematics at the Class 12 or graduation level, and have at least 60% marks.
  • MBA in IT admission requires a bachelor's degree with at least 60% marks and a valid IPU CET or CUET PG score.
  • The process includes registration for IPU CET or CUET PG, taking the test, joining GGSIPU online counselling, submitting course and college choices, receiving an allotment, and reporting for document verification.

Competition for M.Tech seats is high within the NCR government-institution group. GATE-qualified applicants with scores above 450 typically obtain seats in CSE or AI and Data Science.

CDAC Noida Placements

A dedicated training and placement cell coordinates recruitment at CDAC Noida. For PG Diploma batches, the reported placement rate is 75 to 82 per cent and the average package is INR 5 to 7 LPA. Graduates from the AI and ML specialisation have received reported offers as high as INR 18 LPA.

Note: CDAC Noida reports these figures for students who choose to participate in placements. NIRF or another government body has not published independently verified placement figures for the institute.

Companies recruiting PG Diploma students include Nokia, Ericsson, TCS, Capgemini, Accenture, Cisco, HCL and Tata Elxsi. M.Tech and MCA students also find roles with IT and telecom companies based across NCR. Employers in India's government and PSU sector recognise the C-DAC name for work related to embedded systems, telecom software and artificial intelligence.

CDAC Noida Campus and Infrastructure

The institute operates from Sector 62, the IT and telecom corridor of Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Its academic facilities include separate laboratories for Advanced Computing, Embedded Systems, VLSI and Big Data Analytics, matching the specialisations taught at the centre.

No hostel is available within the campus. Students generally find private PG or shared housing in Sector 62 and Sector 63 for INR 6,000 to 15,000 per month. Sector 62 station on the Noida Metro Blue Line provides metro access to the institute.

CDAC Noida functions as both a Government of India laboratory and a training centre. Students can use high-performance computing clusters, a technical library with IEEE and ACM digital-library access, and research facilities shared across the national C-DAC network.

CDAC Noida vs NSUT Delhi vs JIIT Noida

Students considering an NCR-based M.Tech or MCA in Computer Science or artificial intelligence may compare CDAC Noida with Netaji Subhas University of Technology in Delhi and Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in Noida. Each institution offers an M.Tech pathway in computer science or AI-related fields.

A key difference at CDAC Noida is its six-month, government-certified PG Diploma route through C-CAT, which NSUT and JIIT do not offer. These diplomas focus particularly on embedded systems, telecom and artificial intelligence. NSUT has stronger M.Tech placement results because of its larger NCR alumni network, while JIIT offers more flexible entry routes and a wider selection of undergraduate programmes. CDAC Noida is also one of the few NCR institutions with an M.Tech specialisation in VLSI Design.

CDAC Noida FAQs

Ques. Is CDAC Noida operated by the government?

Ans. Yes. CDAC Noida belongs to the Government of India and works under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It is part of the nationwide C-DAC network. PG Diploma seats are awarded by C-CAT merit, while degree seats are filled through GGSIPU counselling. No management quota is available.

Ques. How often does C-CAT take place, and what is it used for?

Ans. C-DAC conducts the Common Admission Test, known as C-CAT, twice each year for its February and August intakes. It is the only way to enter the six-month PG Diploma courses at C-DAC centres, including Noida. Applicants register through cdac.in and choose Category 2 or Category 3 according to the programme they want.

Ques. How much do the PG Diploma courses at CDAC Noida cost?

Ans. The full fee for most six-month PG Diploma programmes is between INR 70,000 and INR 81,000. The PG Diploma in Big Data Analytics costs INR 1.20 Lakhs. These amounts cover the entire course, including laboratory use and placement assistance.

Ques. Can students stay in a hostel at CDAC Noida?

Ans. No on-campus hostel is provided. Students usually rent PG or shared accommodation in Sector 62 or Sector 63, where monthly costs range from INR 6,000 to 15,000. The campus can be reached through Sector 62 station on the Noida Metro Blue Line.

Ques. What steps are required for M.Tech admission at CDAC Noida?

Ans. Applicants must participate in GGSIPU centralised counselling with a valid IPU CET or CUET PG score. GATE scores are preferred for CSE and AI and Data Science. The total intake is 85 seats, divided among CSE with 30, AI and Data Science with 30, and VLSI Design with 25. Seats are allotted on merit, and there is no management quota.

Ques. What placement figures does CDAC Noida report?

Ans. PG Diploma batches have a reported placement rate of 75 to 82 per cent and an average package of INR 5 to 7 LPA. Nokia, Ericsson, TCS, Capgemini, Accenture, Cisco and Tata Elxsi are among the recruiters. The highest reported offer for AI and ML graduates is INR 18 LPA. These figures are self-reported by the institute.

Ques. When is registration expected for the February 2027 PG Diploma intake?

Ans. CDAC Noida expects registration for the February 2027 batch to open in November 2026 through cdac.in. C-CAT for this intake is usually conducted from November to December. Applicants should check the official C-DAC website for the confirmed schedule.

Ques. Can a student apply for M.Tech without a GATE score?

Ans. Yes. GATE is strongly preferred but is not compulsory for M.Tech admission through GGSIPU counselling. Students without GATE may use IPU CET or CUET PG. Since only 85 M.Tech seats are available across three specialisations, a GATE score of 450 or higher considerably improves the chance of admission.
