For the course i have choosen i have given a GAT exam around Feb 1st Sunday 2023 . The exam always happen on feb 1st Sunday. The registration begins during October or November through nift's official website.

I really wanted to pursue some course other than engineering and other courses, since I am from apparel production we don't have any situation tests while the entrance exam meanwhile for design students there is situation tests while entrance. As I was very familiar with stitching from my mom and designs and stitches for myself then started the quest for different courses when I was in 9th then found out about NIFT. And it was a dream. There are entrance exams. There are two entrance exam categories for the bachelor program 1. bachelor of Fashion Technology which needs a science background 2. Bachelor of design where background doesn't matter. Then later I took the Bachelor of Design exam. I had no idea there were two exams. I wanted to be a fashion designer. For the written exams there are two different levels one is GAT ( general ability test ) - which includes, English GK Maths, science logical thinking etc.2. CAT(creative ability test)which is for sketching and drawing. Both these tests will be done on the same day. you will be shortlisted for the next round situation test.- there will be hands-on experience with different materials. you get selected and allocated to different campuses and departments. coz of my rank I ended up in accessories design.

I wanted to pursue a career in photography, writing and design and Fashion Communication was a well-rounded course for it. We had two rounds of tests, 1st was a qualitative and quantitative exam which included a written test and a drawing test. 2nd round was the studio round, basically, design and craft work.
