Read this before you join NID Kurukshetra!

What I Liked

The community is the best part of the college. The relationship between juniors and seniors is much better than other colleges and the hierarchy is close to non existent. The faculties are also extremely open and the student faculty relationship is extremely good.
The campus hires visiting faculties for modules mostly and most of them are competent in house faculties are ok some are not good enough. Lots of issues with academics department regarding faculties usually happen.

What I didn’t like

The location of the campus is the worst. Midway through Chandigarh and Delhi in a village called umri. The college is situated on the national highway. No public transport available outside the gate we need to call auto to even go buy essentials which are atleast a km away from the campus. The place is completely unsafe for students and especially women. A lot of predators and weird people who follow students in vehicles to the campus gates when we go outside.
Infrastructure is average. Tools provided by college is fine but not enough for the amount of fees paid.
The previous director was extremely unsupportive and negligent towards student issues. Students have felt ungeard and helpless in a lot of situations.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum structure is different from normal colleges. A subject hours structure isnt followed here. The subjects are taught module wise where each module can last a minimum of 1 week to as long as 10/12 depending on the intensity of the module.

Placement Experience:

The campus isnt very supportive regarding placements. The students have formed a placement committee where immediate juniors reach out to companies for opportunities and internships. Highest package as per my knowledge is 16 lpa but i think students have recieved more. I am currently doing an internship at a startup. Planning to join a design studio later.
