MPhil Admission 2022 for various specializtions at numerous universities in India has started. The candidates are required to check the admission process along with their desired college/university in order to apply for admission to their respective institutions on time. Most of the colleges prefer giving admissions on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance examination while some colleges offer admission on a merit basis. 

  • A candidate needs to appear for the following entrance exams for getting admission in MPhil- CUCET, CUSAT-CAT, JNUEE, LPUNEST, GATE, JRF, VITMEE etc.,

MPhil Admission 2022: Eligibility

The below mentioned are the eligibility criteria for candidates applying for MPhil Admission 2022 which shall differ from University to University or college and to college. 

  • Candidates have to complete their master's degree in a related field in which they want to pursue an MPhil course.

MPhil Admission 2022: Selection Criteria

The Selection criteria for MPhil Admission, 2022 includes Entrance Examination, Written ability tests and Personal Interview and this selection criteria is different in each college/ University which shall be opted by the particular candidate for admission. The selection criteria is as follows:

  • The top colleges after conducting their entrance examination shortlisted the candidates based on the marks obtained by them in their previous qualifying exams or considering the rank in the entrance exam.
  • Then, the shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the final selection process, which might include Personal Interview and Group discussions.
  • Some leading universities due to their vast competitive environment and to search for quality candidates also conduct written tests and personal interviews for final selection.
  • Group discussions are usually not conducted but keeping in view more filter selection GD is conducted so that the Universities get the desired students.
  • After the accomplishment of the above mentioned criteria for M. Phil admission 2022, the candidate needs to go through an admission-advisory round where all the required documents like certificates of previous exams, ID Cards, and MPhil applications are submitted by the candidates.

  • Once done with the registration and application process it is recommended for the candidate to download it for future reference.
  • Next, the candidate needs to keep a proper watch on the official website of the desired university for the availability of admit cards and the issuance of other important updates.
  • After successfully qualifying for the MPhil entrance examination all the qualified candidates are required to fill in their personal information such as the results of entrance examination, educational background, birth year, marks of other previous examinations, etc., on the application form of their desired university/college.
  • Next, on successfully meeting all the eligibility criteria of the chosen university, the candidates are called for a written ability test or direct Interviews round for a better filter of the desired students, hence the admission process gets complete.
  • Then, on being selected, the candidate needs to make payment of the university's entrance fee.

Ans. Yes, MPhil admission 2022 can be acquired without GATE, through either of the ways, firstly directly in private colleges with the help of merit basis, secondly via state-level examinations.

Ans. The major difference between a master's degree and MPhil degree is that the latter requires an utmost and intensive research work rather than an MPhil degree. Also, in some universities candidates are offered direct admission on having an MPhil degree and not need to do the Ph.D coursework again. 

Ques. What is the eligibility criteria for the pursuit of an MPhil degree?

Ans. A full-time MPhil degree is a two year advanced research course that the candidates pursue after the completion of their post-graduate degree. The basic eligibility criteria is that the candidate is required to score an average score of 55% in their post-graduation level from a recognized university.
