Periyar University Admission 2023: B.Ed. and M.Ed

Eligibility

• For B.Ed. admissions the candidate must be a graduate in any discipline.
• For M.Ed. admission the candidate must have an undergraduate degree in any of the following courses with 50% minimum eligibility marks for unreserved category candidates and 45% marks for reserved category candidates- B.Ed./ B.A., B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed./B.EI.Ed./D.EI.Ed.

Selection Criteria

• Entire selection process is based on Merit scored by the candidate in the last qualifying examination.

How to Apply for B.Ed. and M.Ed.?

Application Process

• The application form link can be found on the official website of the university.
• The filled in application form is needed to be submitted or sent to the Professor and head of B.Ed. Department of education Periyar University.
• The application should be labelled as ‘Application for admission to two years B.Ed. program’.
• The candidate is required to submit the photocopies of the relevant document attested by a gazetted officer or self-attested along with application form.

Periyar University Admission 2023: MBA & MCA

Eligibility

• For admission in MBA at Periyar University, candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university.
• Minimum eligibility marks are 50% for general category candidates and 45% for reserved category candidates.
• Admissions are accepted through the entrance exam scores of MAT, CAT, TANCET.

Selection Criteria

• Candidates are selected based on their performance in the Entrance Examination as conducted by respective departments of the University.
• Candidates who have a valid score in MAT, CAT, TANCET are selected based on the respective scores of the entrance exam.
• All the candidates who clear the entrance test will have to appear for a round of Interview and Group Discussion for final selection to the respective courses.

Application Process

• The application form link can be found on the official website of the university.
• Admission to both the courses is through TANCET.
• Admission is solely based on the performance of the candidate in TANCET.
• The candidates are required to submit required documents along with the application form.
• Application fee has to be paid only by a Demand Draft or Challan made in favour of The Registrar.
• SC/ST category candidates are exempted from paying any application fee.
• The application form after being completely filled is to be sent to the University Admissions office.

Periyar University Admission 2023: BBA/BCA

Eligibility

• For admission in BBA, the candidate must have passed the higher secondary examination conducted by a recognised board.
• For Admission in BBA, preference will be given to those candidates who had commerce as a subject in their higher secondary examination.
• For admission in BCA, candidates must have passed higher secondary examination with any of the following subjects- mathematics, business mathematics, computer science or statistics from a recognised board of examination.

Selection Criteria

• Candidates are selected based on merit of their respective scores. The marks scored by the candidate in the last qualifying examination (10+2 marks) with the relevant subject or its equivalent are considered for selection.

Application Process

• The application form link can be found on the official website of the university.
• After filling up the form with required details all the required documents are to be attached and uploaded.
• The form needs to be uploaded online and payment needs to be done via Debit Card/Credit card and Net banking.
• A copy of the documents submitted, payment receipt and the form have to be saved for future reference.

Periyar University PG Courses Eligibility

MA and M.Com. Eligibility

• For M.A in Tamil: Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Tamil.
• For M.A in English: Candidate must have passed B.A in English or must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Candidates who have a Bachelor’s degree from other disciplines must have minimum 50% marks in Part II English.
• For MA in Economics: Candidate must have passed BA in economics or corporation or BCom, BBA, BBA, BSc in mathematics or statistics degree examinations.
• For MA in Journalism and Mass communication: Candidate must have a qualified degree in 10 + 2 + 3 pattern. Preference will be given to candidates who are a graduate in visual communication mass communication and electronic media journalism and mass communication.
• MA in Sociology & Human Resource Development: Candidate must have an undergraduate degree from a recognised university in India.
• For M.Com.: Candidate must have a qualified degree in B.Com. or any degree with financial accounting, cost accounting and management accounting.

M.Sc. and M.Li.S Eligibility

• For M.Sc. in Applied Geology: candidate must have a degree in B.Sc. applied geology or B.Sc. geology.
• For M.Sc. in Mathematics: candidate must have a qualified B.Sc. degree in mathematics, Mathematics C.A with 55% marks.
• For M.Sc. in Physics: candidate must have a bachelor of science degree in physics with 55% of marks.
• For M.sc in Chemistry, Food Science and Nutrition, Applied Psychology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Bioinformatics, Psychology and Visual Communication: To be eligible for applying to any of the mentioned courses the candidate must be a graduate in related disciplines.
• For M.Sc. in Biochemistry: Candidate must have a degree in B.Sc. life sciences.
• For M.Sc. in Biotechnology: candidate must have a graduate degree in related discipline with a minimum of 50% marks.
• For M.Sc. in Botany: Candidate must have a graduate degree in B.Sc. with botany or plant biology, plant biotechnology or life sciences as the main subject.
• For M.Sc. in Zoology: Candidate must have a B.Sc. degree in any of the following disciplines: zoology, biochemistry, wildlife biology, animal sciences, animal biotechnology or any other degree related to zoology life sciences.
• For M.Sc. in Energy Studies: Candidate must have a degree in B.E/BTech in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical and electronics, electronics and communication and chemical engineering or BSc in physics chemistry and biological sciences.
• For M.Sc. in Textile and Apparel Design: Must have a graduate degree in B.Sc. related to any textile and fashion discipline.
• For M.Sc. in Computer Science (Self Supportive): Candidates must have a graduate degree in computer science, computer technology, software engineering, software science BCA under the 10 + 2 + 3 system of this university or any equivalent degree.
• For M.Li.S in Library Sciences: Must be a Graduate in any Discipline.

Selection Criteria

• The selection process for all the above courses is completely based on the Marks/Merit Scored by the candidate in the last/previous qualifying degree.

How to apply for PG Courses?

Application Process

• The application form link can be found on the official website of the university.
• The application form can also be collected from the university itself.
• Candidates are advised to carefully fill up the application form as an incomplete application form will be straight away rejected.
• Separate application forms are needed to be filled up in case the candidate is applying for more than one course.
• The application form has to be submitted with the documents mentioned and registration fee for application as to be paid online.

Periyar University Admission 2023: M.Phil. and PhD

Eligibility

• Candidates must have a master’s degree with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent score in the respective discipline.
• The minimum marks for candidates who belong to SC/ST category to be eligible will be 50% and they need to have qualified for a master’s degree.
• Candidates who are studying in a PG program and have cleared all papers till semester three are also eligible for M.Phil./Ph.D. courses.
• Candidates who have qualified NET/SET/GATE need not apply for the entrance exam conducted by the college.

Selection Criteria

• Selection process is entirely based on the results of the entrance exam and interview after which a merit list is prepared by the college.
