Alagappa University is a 400+ acre university located in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu and was established in 1985. The University is accredited with a grade of A+ by NAAC owing to its excellent facilities and faculty. Alagappa University Admissions

Admissions for enrollment at Alagappa University is a relatively simple process. Admissions are done based on Merit and through entrance exams. Alagappa University conducts its exams for specific subjects such as M.A, M.Com, and others such as M.B.A or M.Sc. may admit a student through CAT scorecard.

How to Apply?

  • First and foremost, the candidates must submit applications, duly filled and documented, to the college.
  • Usually, the University accepts online and offline application forms, but due to COVID -19 pandemic, the University is currently (for the 2021 academic year) accepting online applications only.
  • To apply, a student has to register themselves on the official university website. After completing the registration, the student can now fill out the registration form for the desired Course.
  • After filling out the application forms, depending upon the Course applied for, there would be one of the two admission criteria for the admissions. The student is selected through Entrance test (B. Ed, M.B.A and M.Sc) or Merit List (For all other courses)
  • Interview, Document Verification and Fee payment is done if the candidate passes the entrance test or is on the merit list.
  • The candidate must undergo a short interview process at the University of affiliated colleges.
  • Besides the interview, the University would also verify the academic credentials of the candidate.
  • The candidate has to pay 1st Semester fees/1st-year fees at the spot to be formally accepted as a student of the University.

Ques. Does Alagappa University undertakes engineering courses?

Ans. No, Alagappa University does not undertake any engineering courses. The university only offers courses related to Arts, Science, Education and Arts to students.

Ques. Are Distance Education Programs by Alagappa University approved and recognized by the Indian Government?

Ans. Yes, the distance education programs by Alagappa University are approved by the Distance Education Board of India (DEB) of UGC and recognized by the Government of India. The curriculum was approved in 2014 by DEB, with further distance learning courses being approved in 2018.

Ques. Can a North Indian student apply for Distance Learning from Alagappa university?

Ans. Yes, he can, but it would not be convenient. While one can undertake distance learning from anywhere, the ‘Test centers’ determines the practical feasibility of the Course. Since Alagappa University has very few centers in North India for undertaking exams, a North Indian resident should apply for the native University of his state.
