The Directorate of Distance Education at Alagappa University was established in 1992 in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India. The University is recognized by UGC and is accredited with A+ grade by NAAC in the third cycle graded as Category-I University by MHRD-UGC.

Alagappa ODL programs are available at Undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, PG Diploma, and certificate levels in the faculty of arts, science, management, library science, education, and other fields. It offers 16 UG programmes such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, B.Ed, etc and 59 PG programs such as MA, M.Sc, MBA, MCA, M.Com, etc. Selection to these programmes is based on the merit in the qualifying examination.

Alagappa University DDE Placement

Alagappa University, Directorate of Distance Education does not offer placement for distance learning students. No student has the chance to get an internship because only regular students are allowed to take part in the internship programs; it is not designed to be a remote way for students.

Ans. In the year 1992, the University founded the Directorate of Distance Education. Undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of arts, science, education, and management are offered by the Directorate.

Ques. How can one seek admission to Distance Education at Alagappa University?

Ans. Candidates can apply for direct admission to the University's Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) in Karaikud. Candidates may also enroll through one of the 150+ accredited learning facilities spread out over Tamil Nadu. There are two sessions of admission every year (from July-August) and (from January-February)

Ques. Are students of Distance Education programs of Alagappa University allowed to write examinations in exam centers situated outside Tamil Nadu?

Ans. No. The exam centers located outside of the State of Tamil Nadu were shut down in accordance with the UGC announcement. Around 100 exam centers scattered throughout the State of Tamil Nadu are available for Alagappa University's distance education students to take their current year's exams.
