Bharathidasan University Centre of Distance Education, Tiruchirappalli was established in the year 1992. It is affiliated to Bharathidasan University. The institution was formed to cater to the needs of the students of the University for those who couldn’t attend regular colleges for higher studies.

BUCDE is accredited with an “A+” grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and ranked 60th by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) among the Indian Universities in 2019.
