What's New In ICSE 2025?
CISCE has released the ICSE Class 10 syllabus and regulations for 2027. The timetable is still awaited. The 2026 exams were held from 17 February to 30 March, so the same period is a useful tentative guide for 2027.
ICSE is a school-based examination. A student must be entered by a CISCE-affiliated school, take at least six subjects and complete Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service. Private candidates cannot apply.

ICSE 2027 Exam Dates
The 2027 dates are not out yet. The tentative period below is based on the 2026 schedule.

ICSE 2027 Subjects and Groups
Every student takes the three compulsory Group I areas: English, a second language, and History, Civics and Geography. The student also takes at least two Group II subjects and one Group III subject. A second Group III subject is allowed when one is from Section A and the other is from Section B.

Subject choice matters after Class 10Schools usually explain how a subject combination affects Class 11 choices. The regulations do not force every student to take Mathematics and Science, but these subjects are normally needed for the science stream.
ICSE 2027 Exam Pattern and Marks
The marks split changes by subject. English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography usually have 80% external examination and 20% internal assessment. Many Group III subjects have an equal 50% split between the written paper and internal work.

Paper length also changes by subject. For example, the 2027 Mathematics syllabus has one three-hour paper for 80 marks. Computer Applications has a two-hour 100-mark written paper and 100 marks of internal assessment.
ICSE 2027 Passing Rules
CISCE awards the pass certificate when a candidate is entered with at least six subjects and passes at least five subjects, including English. A pass grade in SUPW and Community Service is also required.
English is counted as one subject even though it has Language and Literature papers. Science is also one subject made up of Physics, Chemistry and Biology papers. History, Civics and Geography is one subject with two papers.
