ICSE Class 10 Improvement Exam 2027: Eligibility, Subjects and Dates

The ICSE 2027 improvement examination is for candidates who appear in the 2027 main examination and want to improve their marks or grade in the same year. The 2027 regulations allow up to two subjects.
A candidate whose main-exam result is shown as ABSENT cannot take the improvement examination. Schools handle the registration, which is planned for June or July.
What Is the ICSE Improvement Examination?
It gives a candidate another chance in the same examination year. CISCE uses the term improvement examination.
Who Can Appear for ICSE Improvement?
- A candidate must have appeared in the ICSE 2027 main examination.
- A qualified or not-qualified candidate may use the option under the regulations.
- A candidate whose main result is ABSENT is not eligible.
- The chosen subjects must be from the candidate's 2027 main-exam subjects.
Number of Subjects and Papers
A candidate may take one or two subjects. When a subject has more than one paper, the candidate may choose one or more papers from that subject. English, Science and History, Civics and Geography are common examples of multi-paper subjects.

Registration and Tentative Dates
CISCE has not announced exact 2027 dates. The regulations say schools will register candidates online in June or July 2027. The main result must come first because the candidate chooses the subject after seeing the result.

Project Marks and Improvement Result
The theory paper is compulsory for the chosen subject. Project marks from the main examination are carried forward. If the candidate was absent for the project earlier, the school may assess and submit the project under the improvement rules.
