UPESEAT 2027 registration is open for B.Tech admission at UPES Dehradun. The online test has 125 questions in two hours, covering Mathematics or Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English Language Comprehension. The 2027 exam dates and application deadline have not been announced.

Most engineering courses require 50% in Class 10, Class 12 and the Class 12 PCM aggregate. Mathematics and Computing requires 70%, while health-science B.Tech courses have a separate PCB/PCM route. Check the course requirement before applying to UPES Dehradun.

UPESEAT 2027 FAQs

Eligibility and Application

Can a PCB student apply through UPESEAT?+

Yes, for the health-science B.Tech route that accepts Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics, and English in Class 12, with 50% in Class 10 and 12. Do not extend that rule to regular CSE or Advanced Engineering courses, which require PCM. Choose the course first, then follow its subject requirement.

Does every B.Tech course need 70%?+

No. The 70% requirement applies to Mathematics and Computing: Class 10, Class 12 and the Class 12 PCM aggregate. Regular Advanced Engineering and Computer Science courses have a 50% requirement in those checks.

Is 50% in Class 12 the same as 50 percentile in JEE Main?+

No. Class 12 percentage is an academic-mark calculation; JEE Main percentile is an exam score measure. Meeting the school-marks requirement does not establish that you meet the separate national-test selection threshold.

Can I apply without taking UPESEAT?+

UPES lists JEE Main 2027, board merit, SAT and CUET-UG 2027 as alternative selection routes. You must meet the chosen programme's academic requirements and the applicable route conditions. The 2027 JEE Main/SAT/board-merit exemption cutoffs are not yet announced.

Is INR 1,750 the B.Tech course fee?+

No. INR 1,750 is the currently published application fee. B.Tech tuition, accommodation and any admission-confirmation payment are separate charges.

Exam and Admission

Is UPESEAT a two-hour or four-hour exam?+

The test duration is two hours. The 10 AM-2 PM period is the login window, not the duration allowed for answering questions. Your timer starts when you begin the test.

Does the current UPESEAT pattern have 200 questions?+

No. The dedicated 2027 notice lists 125 questions for the online test: 35 each in Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry, plus 20 in English. The 200-question format appears in an older general centre-based-test reference.

Can I use the demo-test passkey for the actual exam?+

No. UPES sends a separate passkey for the actual test one day before the exam to the registered email address and mobile number. Use the credentials supplied for your booked test.

How much of the paper is English?+

English Language Comprehension has 20 of 125 questions, or 16% of the question count. That is a section-level calculation, not a prediction of marks from a particular English topic.

Is there negative marking?+

The AY 2026 guide linked from the current UPESEAT notice says there is no negative marking. The dedicated 2027 notice does not separately state a complete marks-per-question scheme. Use the marking instructions displayed for your actual test.

Does meeting eligibility guarantee the course I choose?+

No. Eligibility allows your application to be considered; selection and document verification still apply. Read the programme and conditions in the admission offer before paying against it.

Can I use a 2026 scholarship table to calculate my 2027 fee?+

Not as a confirmed award. UPES has not announced the 2027-28 scholarship details. Earlier percentages can describe an older scheme, but they cannot establish the discount on a 2027 offer.
