Indira Gandhi National Open University has announced the interview schedule for PhD admissions (School of Social Work) for the July 2024 session. The offline interview will take place on January 16, 2025. Eligible candidates are required to report at 10:00 AM and complete their registration between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

Documents Required At The Time Of Interview

To attend an interview at IGNOU for a PhD program, candidates must bring the following documents for verification:-

  • Application form or Admit Card
  • SSC Certificate for Date of Birth verification
  • Graduation and Post Graduation Mark Sheets and Certificates
  • Caste Certificate (mandatory for candidates applying under the reservation category)
  • NOC from employer (for candidates in employment) as per CI 5 of the PhD guidelines
  • Fellowship document (UGC, CSIR, GATE, CEED) specifying the validity period of the fellowship

Important Notes For IGNOU PhD Admission

  • Selected candidates must attend a 6-month coursework at the Delhi Campus.
  • Candidates must arrange their accommodation, as IGNOU will not provide it.
  • A research proposal (max. 5 pages) is required for the interview; bring 10 copies.
  • Candidates will write an essay on a topic to assess their writing skills.
  • Interview weightage varies by category: Category A (100% interview), Category B (30% interview, 70% NET score).
  • Non-eligible candidates with grievances must submit the required documents within 3 days of the interview schedule's publication
