We are cheerful with our students in the first year of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR working under Shunya Club, a technical body at the university. At IIT Delhi, they have won the Nextech Innovation Challenge by developing MedTech Gloves, smart medical assistants for doctors, nurses and hospital staff. The gloves can detect any abnormality in the body function of any human being, at any point in time, who has worn it and immediately report it to the nearest medical facility and doctor, enabling the nearest hospital and ambulance to pick up the patient and help in saving a patient from a sudden heart attack, and other health conditions.

Skilled hardware enthusiasts from all over the country were welcomed by the NexTech. They create an environment that encourages thinking beyond traditional limits to strengthen hardware-based projects to solve real-world problems.

The participants are encouraged to combine the latest hardware technology with technologies like IoT, AI, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Robotics, AR, and VR.

The primary aim of this competition is to demonstrate the practical utilization of electronics and robotics within a context focused on the Internet of Things (IoT). With this purpose in mind, we have meticulously curated five thematic areas for contestants to engage with:

• Personal HealthCare
• Smart Agriculture
• Automobiles and IoT-Connected Cars with Predictive Maintenance
• Environmental Management encompassing Pollution Control and Water/Waste Management
• Smart Cities Emphasizing Public Safety and Energy Management

The event has two rounds to this competition. The Ideation phase, The First round will be conducted online. The participants have to submit a PPT Presentation with a detailed explanation of the problem statement and solution on which they are working along with its unique features, and the implementation approach to the project. 19th August 2023 is the deadline for the online submission.

The prototype phase is the second round of the competition and it will be conducted in IIT Delhi. The participants can work on their project and present it in person. A maximum of 15 teams from Round 1 will be selected for the 2nd round.

All the teams have 24 hours to build and assemble their project. There will be a live demonstration of their project after 24 hours, where all the teams have to give a detailed explanation of its working prototype. The participants have to answer questions from the judges and the audience in a Q&A Session.

Problem statement: The basis of the evaluation of the problem statement would be how unique the idea is, how much worth it holds practically, to what degree is the complexity of the problem statement, and how much clarity one can receive about the problem statement.

Solution: It is a hardware hackathon, so the solution should be hardware-centric and higher value will be given to hardware resources used for the project. The evaluation of the proposed solution will be done based on how apt it is and to what extent it satisfies the problem, whether it is scalable enough to accommodate new requirements identified at a later stage, the workability and flexibility of the proposed solution, and whether the solution is available on any open source platform.

Effort and Cost of Implementation: The marking will be based on how accurately the resources have been used for the proposed solution and how the hardware and software costs have been covered for the project.

Theme Alignment: The marking will also be based on how the problem statement and proposed solution align with any of the available themes.

The Competition is open to all high school, undergraduate and postgraduate students and the participants are allowed to use IoT services like Blynk, Arduino Cloud, etc.

All the entries must be unique content and the intellectual property rights of any third party should not be violated. The participants will be disqualification immediately if plagiarism is found among them.

All the PPT and Video Presentations have to be submitted within the provided deadline and no late submission will be permitted.

It is advised to all the participants to bring their own equipment and materials required for their project in Round 2. ESYA will not be responsible for any kind of theft, loss, or damage to the personal properties of participants.

The participants will be disqualified from the event in Round 2 if they fail to provide a valid explanation or demonstration.

The participants will be disqualified who do not comply with rules and engage in unethical or unprofessional behaviour.

The participants must follow all safety regulations and guidelines during the live demonstration.

The new ideas or solutions provided/developed/proposed by the teams are entertained and If using previous work, then any such work must be stated clearly during the presentation. The idea must not have been present in any previous event/program of any sort.

In case of any conflict, the decision of the organizing committee will be final. Among 185 teams from all over the country, they have secured 1st position. The team members were Yogesh Tapariya, Raj Krish, Abhishek Gupta, and Suman Maity. They are under the supervision of Divyansh Sachdev, a 3rd-year student and founding member of this Shunya Club at UEM JAIPUR.
