Poornima University Important Dates

The 2026-27 academic session is underway. Its admission routes include JEE Main 2026 for B.Tech and NATA 2026 for B.Arch and B.Des. Upcoming entrance exam events relevant to the university's programmes are listed below. The university's usual application opening period for 2027-28 is November 2026 onward; this remains tentative.

Poornima University Courses and Fees

Across its nine schools, PU runs more than 60 programmes. Engineering has the largest student group, followed by management, design and commerce. The specialisation affects the fee: AI and data programmes cost more than conventional engineering branches.

At INR 1,82,500 for three years, B.Com has the lowest fee among the full-degree programmes. For postgraduate study, the lowest fee is INR 1,67,500 for M.Tech with GATE qualification. Students interested in international management careers can consider BBA in Global Business, a higher-priced option costing INR 5,77,500.

The BCA Google Apps programme is a technology partnership option priced at INR 13,52,500. B.Sc in Animation and VFX and B.Sc in Gaming each cost INR 4,22,500; both connect science and technology study with gaming and media production careers. EMPH and M.Plan in Urban Planning add pathways into public sector and infrastructure work.

Poornima University Admission Process

PU uses rolling admissions, which means it considers applications through several intake rounds. Students apply online through poornima.edu.in. After the application and documents are verified, an admission offer is issued within 48 to 72 hours.

1. Choose a programme and check its subject, marks and entrance exam requirements.
2. Complete the application on the university portal.
3. Submit the required academic documents and entrance scorecard, where applicable.
4. Complete the relevant test, counselling, portfolio review or interview required for the programme.
5. After verification, receive the admission letter and pay the semester fee to secure the seat.

The main programme groups follow these admission routes and eligibility rules:

B.Tech Engineering

• Applicants need Class 12 with PCM and an aggregate of at least 45%.
• Selection routes include JEE Main, the Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET), REAP counselling and the Poornima Admission Test (PAT).
• JEE Main percentile can qualify students for merit scholarships covering up to 40% of tuition fees.
• To complete admission, submit the online form, scorecard and supporting documents, then pay the semester fee after receiving the admission letter.

B.Arch and B.Des

• For B.Arch, students need at least 50% in Class 12 with PCM or PCB, along with a valid NATA score or JEE Main Paper 2 score.
• B.Des applicants may come from any Class 12 stream. Selection can use a valid NATA score or a portfolio review.
• A NATA score of 120 or more qualifies applicants for a merit award.

BBA, B.Com and BCA

Class 12 results form the main basis for admission to these courses. Specialised streams may also use the Poornima Aptitude Test (PAT), so there is no single entrance examination for the whole group. BBA and BA accept students from Arts, Science and Commerce. BCA applicants must have studied Mathematics in Class 12; the B.Com course requirement is Class 12 in Commerce.

MBA

A graduate from any discipline can apply with at least 50% marks. PU considers CAT, MAT, CMAT and the Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT). Applicants without a valid score in these tests may take the Poornima Management Aptitude Test (PMAT). Each year's MBA programme begins in July.

The MBA in International Finance with ACCA combines two qualifications. Students study for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) programme alongside their MBA, preparing them for global finance roles after graduation.

M.Tech

Applicants must hold a B.Tech or B.E. in the relevant branch with at least 50%. GATE-qualified students receive preference and can access merit scholarships. Those applying without GATE may take PU's M.Tech entrance examination.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

An Engineering diploma allows students to enter the second year of B.Tech through Rajasthan's Lateral Entry scheme. Available branches include CSE, AI and Data Science, Cloud Technology, Cyber Security, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. For the remaining three years, total fees range from INR 3,30,000 to INR 5,70,000. Selection takes place through REAP Lateral Entry counselling or a university test.

Poornima University Placements

The placement cell brings more than 350 companies to campus each year for jobs and internships. In the latest B.Tech placement cycle, 83 of 112 eligible students secured jobs. Salary figures are expressed in LPA, meaning lakh rupees per year.

Morgan Stanley, Infosys and Byju's are among the campus recruiters. The highest engineering offers go to students in CSE, AI/ML and Cyber Security. MBA graduates find marketing, HR and analytics roles with regional and national employers.

B.Tech and MBA students must complete an industry internship lasting one semester. These internships often lead to job offers before campus placements. Through the Poornima Industry Interface Programme, students also undertake live projects with industry partners before graduation to prepare for recruitment.

For architecture and design graduates, portfolios play a major role in hiring. PU's design industry contacts in Jaipur and Delhi also support these placements.

Poornima University Campus and Infrastructure

In Sitapura Extension, Jaipur, PU's 32-acre campus stands beside the Sitapura Industrial Estate, one of Rajasthan's largest IT and industrial clusters. Dedicated schools serve Engineering, Architecture and Design, Management, Commerce and Arts, Science, and Public Health.

Engineering facilities include labs for CAD/CAM, which supports computer-aided design and manufacturing, as well as robotics, embedded systems, networking and the Internet of Things (IoT). Fashion and interior design students use dedicated studios. A central library, multiplex sports complex and startup incubation centre are also on campus. Students collaborate on live projects with technology partners through the Industry Interface Lab.

Engineering and management programmes have AICTE approval. B.Arch has approval from the Council of Architecture (CoA), while teacher education has NCTE approval. The university also holds NAAC's A+ grade and the QS I-GAUGE Diamond rating. Separate men's and women's hostels provide mess services, and university transport links the campus with Jaipur's main commuter network.

The nearby IT corridor makes industry visits, guest lectures and off-campus internships possible within a short commute. Student startups can use the incubation centre to access seed funding opportunities and guidance from industry professionals. M.Tech and Ph.D. researchers have support from centres working in nanotechnology, geoinformatics and embedded systems.

Poornima University Scholarships

Merit support is available across PU's undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Strong Class 12 results or qualifying entrance exam performance can earn students a tuition fee waiver of up to 40%. Other awards recognise entrance scores, sporting achievements and women students.

Students from SC/ST, OBC and EWS categories can also seek government support through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and Rajasthan state scholarship schemes. PU's student welfare cell helps them prepare documents and complete applications.

Poornima University, Manipal University Jaipur and JECRC University Compared

Engineering and management applicants in Rajasthan often compare these three private universities in Jaipur. Their establishment years, accreditation, CSE fees and engineering admission routes are shown below.

PU is presented as the lowest-fee CSE option among the three, although JECRC's stated range begins at INR 7 Lakhs. Its A+ NAAC grade matches Manipal University Jaipur's. Manipal has a larger campus and the Manipal Group's recognition across India. JECRC has a longer institutional history in Jaipur and a lower NAAC grade.

All three are private, AICTE-approved universities where JEE Main is a primary engineering admission route. PU's fees and A+ accreditation make it an option for students seeking an affordable private university in Jaipur.
