NIMS Admission Dates 2026

NIMS medical admission for MBBS and BDS follows the Rajasthan NEET-UG 2026 counselling route. The current active schedule is for Round 3 of Rajasthan NEET-UG counselling.

NIMS has two broad admission paths for 2026-27. Medical seats such as MBBS and BDS are handled through NEET-based counselling, while many non-medical courses use CUET scores, national entrance tests, or the NIMS entrance route.

For MBBS, NIMS fills nearly 50% of seats through Rajasthan state counselling. The other seats are offered under management quota and NRI quota. For B.Tech and management courses, students with more than 90% in the qualifying exam can get direct admission if seats are available.

NIMS Courses and Fees

NIMS University has courses in medicine, allied health, pharmacy, engineering, management, law, science, arts, and commerce. Medical fees differ sharply by quota, while non-medical fees fall under the private university fee structure. The university has a strong Pharmacy profile, with NIRF 2025 placing it at 79 in the Pharmacy category. B.Pharm and M.Pharm students study through dedicated pharmaceutical laboratories and industry tie-ups. Allied health courses include Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Dialysis Technology, Radiation Therapy, and Emergency Medical Technology, making NIMS a broad allied health training centre in Rajasthan.

NIMS Admission Process

The admission process at NIMS depends on the course. Medical and dental seats use NEET counselling, while pharmacy, allied health, engineering, management, law, and other programmes may use national entrance scores, CUET, or the NIMS entrance test.

MBBS and BDS Admission

MBBS is the main programme at NIMS and has 250 sanctioned seats. Students are admitted through NEET-UG and Rajasthan state counselling conducted by RUHS.

• Eligibility: 10+2 with at least 50% in PCB for General category students and a valid NEET-UG score
• State counselling: nearly 50% of seats are allotted by RUHS based on merit and category
• Management quota: the remaining seats are filled directly by NIMS using NEET scores
• BDS follows the same NEET-UG and RUHS counselling route

Pharmacy and Allied Health Admission

For B.Pharm and Pharm.D, NIMS considers NEET-UG, CUET UG, or NIMS Entrance Test scores. Students must have 10+2 PCB or PCM with at least 45%. B.Sc Nursing and GNM prefer NEET-UG performance and also use the university entrance route. BPT, BOT, Optometry, and other allied health B.Sc courses require 10+2 PCB with 45%.

B.Tech Admission

B.Tech is offered in CSE, IT, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and other branches. Admission is based on JEE Main, CUET UG, or the NIMS Entrance Test. Students need 10+2 PCM with at least 45%. NEXT scholarship applicants with more than 90% in 10+2 may also receive direct admission.

MBA Admission

MBA applicants can use CAT, MAT, CUET PG, XAT, CMAT, or NIMS Entrance scores. The minimum requirement is graduation with 50%. Students with 90 percentile or above in CAT can receive a 100% MBA tuition fee scholarship. Selection is based on the entrance score and a personal interview.

Law (BALLB, LLB, LLM)

BALLB is a 5-year integrated course for students who have completed 10+2 with 45%. Admission is through CLAT, CUET UG, or the NIMS Law entrance. LLB needs graduation with 45% along with CLAT or NIMS entrance. LLM admission requires an LLB degree with 50%.

Postgraduate Medical (MD, MS, DM, M.Ch)

MD and MS seats are filled through NEET-PG 2026 using MCC All-India counselling and Rajasthan state PG medical counselling. DM and M.Ch super-specialty seats use NEET-SS. PG medical fees differ by specialty and quota type.

NIMS Cutoffs

NIMS MBBS cutoff changes by quota and category. Recent trends show that the NEET-UG closing rank for General category candidates under the State Quota usually falls within a broad rank range.

NIMS Placements and Career Outcomes

After MBBS, BDS, or BAMS, many NIMS students move toward NEET-PG for MD/MS, MDS entrance tests, state PSC medical officer exams, or private practice. A service bond may apply depending on the admission quota and state government rules. Students admitted through RUHS state quota may need to complete a rural posting bond after graduation.

For engineering, management, and law, the Placement and Career Development Cell has reported engagement with 2,000-plus companies. Non-medical students enter fields such as IT services, banking, FMCG, healthcare administration, and corporate law. Across placed students from different streams, the reported average package is INR 10 LPA, while placement rates differ by department.

NIMS Rankings

NIMS University appears in NIRF 2025 in the University and Pharmacy categories. Pharmacy is its better-ranked area, supported by the university's teaching, research, and learning facilities in pharmaceutical sciences.

The Pharmacy rank of 79 includes a teaching and learning resources score of 73.55 and a graduation outcomes score of 56.18. The University category rank band of 151-200 reflects NIMS as a private state university with a wide course base. It does not have separate NIRF ranks in Medical, Engineering, or Management at present.

NIMS Scholarships

NIMS University offers merit scholarships through NEXT, the NIMS Excellence Scholarship Test, along with scholarships based on national entrance exam performance. These scholarships are not applicable for Nursing and Pharmacy admissions. A student can use only one scholarship.

The NEXT scholarship applies only to first-year tuition. To continue a scholarship in later years, students must keep the required CGPA. MBBS and MBBS-adjacent programmes are not included under merit scholarships. Eligible students may also apply separately for government schemes such as NSP and Rajasthan state scholarships for SC, ST, and OBC students.

NIMS Campus and Infrastructure

NIMS University has a 450-plus acre campus on the Jaipur-Delhi Highway in Rajasthan. The campus includes NIMS Hospital, a multi-specialty tertiary care teaching hospital, along with medical and dental colleges, a pharmaceutical sciences block, an engineering and technology building, a management school, a law school, and residential facilities. The hospital supports hands-on clinical learning for MBBS, BDS, nursing, physiotherapy, and allied health students.

Hostels are available for male and female students. Annual hostel fees range from INR 1.00 Lakh to INR 6.00 Lakhs, depending on room type and facilities. The campus also has a cafeteria, sports facilities, a library with digital access, and research laboratories for pharmaceutical sciences and engineering. NIMS Hospital has a NABL-accredited laboratory that also supports biomedical research.

The university is connected to Jaipur by road through the Jaipur-Delhi Highway. Durgapura railway station in Jaipur is the nearest railway station and is 20 km away. NIMS also runs campus transport for students.

NIMS vs Pacific University vs Suresh Gyan Vihar University

Students looking at private universities in Rajasthan often compare NIMS University, Jaipur with Pacific University, Udaipur and Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur. All three are private universities started in 2008 and offer courses in several disciplines. NIMS stands out for MBBS, BDS, and Pharmacy. Pacific University also offers medical and allied health programmes, while SGVU is more focused on technology and management.

For students seeking MBBS or Pharmacy in the Jaipur-NCR belt, NIMS is the strongest option among the three. Pacific University in Udaipur has wider medical coverage, including Ayurveda, and a slightly higher NAAC grade. Suresh Gyan Vihar University has a stronger NAAC grade of A and is a better fit for technology and management students who do not need medical programmes.
