Eligibility Criteria For PhD Admission

The detailed eligibility criteria for VELS PhD 2025 admission are listed below:-

  • Completed 10+2+UG (3+ years) or 11+1+UG (3+ years) educational pathway.
  • Hold a Master's degree or equivalent professional qualification recognized by a statutory body.
  • Minimum 55% aggregate marks or 'B' grade on the UGC 7-point scale in Master's degree.
  • Relaxation of 10% marks (to 45%) for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), Differently-Abled candidates, and those with a Master's degree obtained before September 19, 1991.

Admission Process For PhD 2025

The PhD admission process at VISTAS involves a two-stage evaluation:-

  • Stage 1: Eligible candidates must take a 100-mark entrance test, covering Research Methodology (50%) and subject-specific topics (50%).
  • Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates will present their research interests before the Department Research Committee through an interview/viva voce.
  • Selection is based on a weighted average of 70% for the entrance test and 30% for the interview/viva voce.
