SRIHER Admission Dates 2026

SRIHER uses different admission paths for different courses. MBBS and BDS admissions are based on NEET UG and MCC deemed university counselling. MD, MS, and MDS seats follow NEET PG and deemed university counselling. B.Tech, allied health, and management admissions are handled through institute-level applications or merit routes.

For MBBS admission, students must qualify NEET UG and take part in MCC counselling for deemed university seats. B.Tech admission is based on JEE Main scores or the SRIHER entrance test.

SRIHER Courses and Fees

SRIHER runs more than 170 programmes through 15 constituent faculties. Its main fields include medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering, nursing, allied health, and management. The table below lists the total fee for major courses.

SRIHER’s B.Tech courses focus strongly on medical technology. Its Computer Science and Medical Engineering course brings together software learning and clinical informatics. The allied health group covers over 20 specialisations, including Trauma Care Management and Sports and Exercise Sciences.

SRIHER Admission Process

Admission rules at SRIHER depend on the course group. Medical and dental UG and PG courses use national entrance exams and centralised counselling. Engineering, management, pharmacy, nursing, and allied health courses are filled through institute-level merit or entrance-based processes.

MBBS and BDS Admission

SRIHER offers 250 MBBS seats. These seats are filled only through NEET UG merit and MCC deemed university counselling.

• Eligibility: 10+2 with PCB and at least 50% for General category or 40% for SC/ST candidates. Students must also qualify NEET UG.
• Minimum age: 17 years as of 31 December of the admission year.
• Selection: MCC Deemed University counselling through Round 1, Round 2, and Stray Vacancy rounds. Direct admission is not allowed.
• NEET UG 2025 closing rank for the General category ranged from 1,66,033 to 2,36,028 across counselling rounds.

MD, MS, and MDS Admission

For postgraduate medical and dental courses, SRIHER follows NEET PG and MCC counselling rules for deemed universities.

• Eligibility: MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS. Registration with MCI/NMC or DCI is required.
• Students must qualify NEET PG. General category students need at least the 50th percentile.
• A compulsory 1-year rotating internship must be completed before joining.

B.Tech Admission

B.Tech courses in AI, Cyber Security, IoT, and Computer Science and Medical Engineering use JEE Main scores or the SRIHER entrance test for admission.

• Eligibility: 10+2 with PCM and at least 60% aggregate for General category students.
• Selection: JEE Main rank or SRIHER entrance test score, followed by counselling at the institute.

Allied Health, Pharmacy, and Nursing Admission

For B.Pharm, BPT, B.Sc Nursing, and other allied health UG courses, students need 10+2 PCB with at least 50% marks. B.Sc Nursing also requires NEET UG qualification as per NMC guidelines.

SRIHER Placements

SRIHER placements for 2024-25 included more than 190 companies. The highest package touched INR 72 LPA. More than 800 UG and 660 PG students were placed. UG median packages ranged from INR 4 to INR 12.5 LPA, based on specialisation. PG median packages ranged from INR 5.4 to INR 25 LPA.

B.Tech, BBA, and MBA students usually take part in campus placements for IT services, healthcare technology, and hospital administration roles. B.Pharm, BPT, Nursing, and other allied health graduates find opportunities in hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and diagnostic chains. MBBS and BDS graduates mostly choose postgraduate specialisation instead of direct work after the UG degree.

SRIHER Rankings

SRIHER performs strongly in NIRF rankings among private deemed universities in South India. In NIRF 2025, it is ranked #13 in Dental, placing it among India’s top 15 dental institutions.

SRIHER Campus and Infrastructure

SRIHER has a 175-acre campus in Porur, western Chennai, along the Arcot Road corridor. The campus brings together academic buildings, the teaching hospital, research centres, and sports facilities in one complex.

Sri Ramachandra Hospital, located on the campus, is a 1,800-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital with 200 ICU units. It serves more than 35,000 inpatients and 2,50,000 outpatients every year, giving medical and allied health students regular clinical exposure. The hospital provides tertiary care in cardiology, oncology, neurosciences, nephrology, and organ transplantation. Hostel details are not specified on the official site, but on-campus residential options are available for students. The Porur location gives access to the Chennai metro network and is 18 km from Chennai Central.

SRIHER vs Saveetha Institute vs Chettinad Academy of Research and Education

SRIHER, Saveetha Institute, and Chettinad Academy are private deemed-to-be universities in Tamil Nadu. All three offer MBBS and health science courses, and many NEET UG-qualified students compare them for private deemed university MBBS/BDS seats in and around Chennai.
