Indian Institute of Management Ranchi is inviting applications for PhD Admission 2025. Candidates can apply online through the IIM Ranchi admission portal before March 23, 2025 (5:00 PM). The application fee is INR 2000 for the unreserved category and INR 1000 for SC / ST / PwD category candidates.

IIM Ranchi PhD Eligibility

  • Candidates must have a Master’s degree / PG Diploma or its equivalent in any discipline with first class.
  • Candidates having a 4 Years Bachelor’s degree with a 6.5 CGPA or equivalent can apply.
  • Candidates with any professional qualification such as CA / ICWA / CS with a B.Com or any bachelor’s degree with a minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade are eligible.
  • Candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent in all their public examinations starting with the secondary level.
  • Students appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year can also apply. However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before the commencement of the classes.
  • Candidate must not be more than 55 years of age.

IIM Ranchi PhD Selection Process

  • Candidates must have qualified for any National Level Test such as CAT / GATE / GRE / GMAT / NET-JRF (UGC/CSIR) in the relevant area of specialization.
  • Scores of any of these examinations including the CAT taken during the last two years will be considered valid for admission to Ph.D.
  • Candidates who have already obtained PGDM in any specialized area of management from any of the IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or equivalent in the last four years are exempted from this requirement and can apply directly.
  • The candidates short-listed on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations will be called for a seminar and personal interview for final selection.
  • The successful candidates will receive an admission offer from IIM Ranchi.
  • Work experience in industry or academics is not mandatory but will be given due credit in the selection process.
  • Candidates must carry the Application printout along with all relevant documents when called for an interview.

IIM Ranchi PhD Scholarship

IIM Ranchi provides comprehensive financial support to the PhD scholars as mentioned below:

  • Stipend of INR 35,000 per month for the first two years is provided.
  • After qualifying the comprehensive examinations at the end of the second year, the monthly stipend will be raised to INR 40,000 per month for the remaining period.
  • Contingency allowance of INR 1,00,000 spread over 4 years is provided for the purchase of books, stationary, security software, operating software, field visits, etc.
  • INR 50,000 is provided in the first / second year for the purchase of computers, software, and other peripherals.
  • Financial support in presenting papers in 4 Domestic and 1 International Conference, conference grant in first four years.
