AIIMS Nagpur PhD Eligibility

  • Candidates holding MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or MD / MS / MPH / DM / MCH or Diplomate of National Board of Examination in the subject concerned are eligible.
  • Nonmedical candidates must have a Master’s Degree (except MSc Nursing) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates holding BAMS & BHMS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks will be eligible for the Non-Medical category.
  • Candidates possessing Masters Degree through Distance Learning Course are not eligible.
  • Candidates possessing Masters Degree through Distance Learning Course shall not be eligible.
  • Candidates should have qualified any of the following National Level Tests in the last 2 years:
    • Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF
    • ICMR-JRF
    • DBT-SRF
    • NBHM screening test
    • GATE
    • INSPIRE fellowship
  • Candidates working under Central Govt. / Semi Govt. / Autonomous organizations should submit their applications through their employer with a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer along with their applications.
  • The foreign nationals are required to send their applications through the Diplomatic Channel. They are also required to appear in the Competitive Entrance Examination.

AIIMS Nagpur PhD Selection Process

The selection will be based on the different parameters as follows:

  • The Aptitude Test will be of 30 marks consisting of questions based on English (10 marks), Biostatistics & Research Methodology (15 marks) and Cell Biology & Lab Technology (5 marks).
  • The Subject related test will be of 40 marks consisting of 40 MCQs of 1 mark each.
  • Candidates securing a minimum of 50% marks in the above tests will be called for departmental assessment of 20 marks.
  • Candidates who have qualified in any of the National Level tests will be awarded 10 Marks.
  • After the entrance examination, results will be declared and selection letters will be issued.
