life in aiims as a nursing student

What I Liked

college has great infrastructure, there's a learning resource center, canteen, auditorium for special occasions, a gym, badminton court and playground.
campus is nothing special to write about other than the hectic schedule

What I didn’t like

if the campus was located in a economically thriving area, it would have been better
i feel like the need and area to develop any other hobbies has been extremely limited

Placement Experience:

As of yet no such programs are there. There have been talks about implementing a yearly contract with the hospital itself after graduation but it's still in the works. Most of the students here are opting to write NORCET and start as a nursing officer.

Internships Opportunities:

As per the curriculum itself, by the fourth year of your course, the first six months would be theoretical studies while the next six months would be for the internships so that you can get acclimated get some experience and develop some ideas about any specialization that you might wish to do in the future

My experience in AIIMS, Nagpur

What I Liked

The huge infrastructure spanning over 150 acres of land
Availability of OPD, IPD, Emergency blocks
World class learning facilities and faculty.
Praiseworthy sports and extra curricular activities
Zero hostel fees and minimum mess fees here.

What I didn’t like

Attendance is taken very rarely in the hostels.
Mess food is average comparing the amount which is paid for it.
5 stray dogs were spotted roaming in the college

Placement Experience:

For placement, the student must have completed MBBS and is provided with internship in the same college for 1 year. Placement in hospitals is based on another exam called INICET which is a course for the PGT. Basically the salary for PGTs is fixed at around 90000 Rs per month but once they pass residency, they can earn upto 5L Rs. per month. The percent of students getting placements is 100%. My plan after getting MBBS is to clear INICET and choose Radiology (MD).

Internships Opportunities:

I've not opted for any internship as it is my first year in college but definitely looking forward to it in the coming years. But there are several workshops and seminars conducted throughout the year which I take part.

What I Liked

Campus life- many sports facility,gym etc available.
Infrastructure - it's infrastructure is very good.

What I didn’t like

Transport facility is little bit not good.
Some teachers only just read ppts in classroom.

Placement Experience:

100 percent guarantee of getting job, u can do post graduation or work in government and private.Both will give u salary.In pg u will get 90000 monthly in my college. After MBBS u will easily get job of 70000.

Internships Opportunities:

Icmr projects- where u have to do research in particular subject by collecting data from patients , if your project approved then u will get 50000 rupees .In internship u will got 30000 monthly in my college.
