JEE Advanced 2023 Paper 1 Analysis

As per student feedback, there were concerns about the balance of weightage in Chemistry, more weightage was given to Organic Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry questions were from the NCERT textbook and were relatively few in number. Physical Chemistry questions revolved around topics such as Chemical Kinetics, Ionic & Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Atomic Structure, and Thermodynamics. Organic Chemistry questions focused on areas such as Amines, Polymers, Biomolecules, Oxygen-containing Compounds, and Named Reactions.

In terms of Physics, students reported a well-balanced distribution of questions. Chapters like Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Modern Physics, Capacitors, Current Electricity, Gravitation, Optics, and Electrostatics received more weightage.

Mathematics had some challenges with lengthy questions in topics like Vectors and 3D Geometry. Other topics covered included Functions, Matrices, Ellipse, Statistics & Probability. Questions were also asked about Probability, Complex Numbers, 3-D Geometry, and Parabolas.

JEE Advanced 2023 Paper 2 Analysis

Based on the analysis shared by FIITJEE, the Chemistry Section was reported to be challenging. The paper was imbalanced, with more weightage placed on Organic and Physical Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry featured a few questions directly drawn from the NCERT textbook. The numerical questions in the Chemistry section required a comprehensive understanding of concepts spanning both Organic and Physical Chemistry. Some of the topics covered included Chemical Kinetics, Ionic & Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, and Thermodynamics in Physical Chemistry. In Organic Chemistry, the questions encompassed Aryl & Alkyl halides, Amines, Polymers, Biomolecules, and Oxygen-containing Compounds.

In the Physics Section, the questions revolved around various topics, such as Wave & Sound, Wave Optics, Fluids, EM Waves, Thermodynamics, Modern Physics, Current Electricity, Kinematics, Gravitation, and Electrostatics.

The Mathematics Section contained questions that tested the understanding of Functions, Differential Equations, Inverse Trigonometric functions, Differentiability, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Application of Derivatives, Complex Numbers, Matrices, Circle Permutation & Combination, and Probability.
