NTA has announced the postponement of CUET UG 2023 exam in Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on Friday. The exam in Manipur and J&K will be conducted on 26th May and 29th May 2023 respectively.

According to NTA, CUET 2023 exams will proceed as scheduled across the country in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020. Exams will take place between May 21 and June 6. However, as a result of ongoing tension between ethnic groups in the northeastern state, the state government recommended postponing the exams in Manipur. NTA has rescheduled the test in J&K to facilitate students in taking the test conveniently by setting up temporary examination centers.

“All exams in Manipur will be held from 29th May 2023 onwards, following consultation with the state administration,” the agency reported. Manipur had 3,697 candidates take the test in the state, according to the NTA.

In consultation with the state administration, the NTA examined the law-and-order situation and contacted these candidates by telephone to ask about their preferred city for the examination. The examination is being taken in other cities by some candidates who are not from Manipur or want to take it in a different state/city, such as Delhi, Guwahati, etc. Candidates from Manipur still have the option of changing centers," the agency said.
