Maharashtra CET Cell has declared that a PCM re-test for MHT CET 2025 will be held for 24,744 English medium candidates due to significant translation flaws in the Maths question paper. The re-exam is being planned between May 6 to 11, 2025, and the dates will soon be released on cetcell.mahacet.org.

This step follows after general complaints were reported regarding incorrect answers and scrambled options, mostly as a result of incorrect translations from Marathi to English during the last session of the MHT CET PCM 2025 exam conducted on April 27.

21 Maths Questions Reported Incorrect

CET Cell Commissioner Dileep Sardesai reported in a media briefing that 21 out of 50 mathematics questions in the English-medium paper were discovered to be defective. These mistakes arose due to bad translations, and these translations had resulted in improper or misleading answers.

Contrary to this, there were no such complaints in the Marathi and Urdu-medium question papers, tried by 2,875 and 218 candidates respectively. It was ensured that AI tools had not been utilized in the question paper setting, and the CET Cell has now taken action against the concerned paper setters.

Re-Test Schedule & Centre Allocation

The date for re-test MHT CET PCM 2025 would be intimated through proper means, i.e., CET portal, mail, and chatbot. The candidates are advised to keep an eye on the notifications. Yet, CET authorities have cautioned that they might not allot the same centers as the erstwhile allocation might pose logistics limitations.

Accountability & Action Against Paper Setters

The CET Cell has reacted strongly to the mistake, calling paper setters and starting a verification process. The probe confirmed the mistakes, and the authorities intend to blacklist the paper setters involved and issue formal notices.

No Retest for Kurla Power Outage Centre

Clarifying issues regarding a power failure at the Kurla exam centre, Sardesai explained that it was a minor technical glitch and no exam was disrupted. While officials provided accommodation for outstation students, few of them availed it.

What's in Store for MHT CET PCM 2025 Candidates?

This re-test provides an equitable second chance to the disturbed students. Candidates need to remain informed through cetcell.mahacet.org and retain their registered phones and emails activated for updates.
