This is an important announcement for students intending to complete the admissions process in postgraduate medical programs all over India. MCC has stated that the updated timeline must be followed at all costs and that weekends and holidays are working days in order to ensure smooth counseling processes.

Online Stray Vacancy Round
The Online Stray Vacancy Round is scheduled for filling vacant seats after completion of Round 3. It is the last chance for candidates eligible for postgraduate medical courses.

Key Highlights of Round 3
Round 3 counselling is a critical process for applicants in order to better their seat allocations or get admissions if they failed to get through in the earlier rounds.
- Registration and Payment
Applicants eligible for this process must register through the MCC portal and pay for the counselling before the due date. Registration and payment, if not completed within the timeline will make applicants ineligible for this process.
- Choice Filling and Locking
Choices filling window allows the candidates to select their most preferred colleges and courses. The choices need to be reviewed and locked before the deadline because once the window closes, the system will automatically lock the choices.
- Seat Allotment and Reporting
A seat allotment process will be conducted by the MCC based on the merit, preferences, and seat availability of the candidate. The result for Round 3 will be announced on January 18, 2025. Candidates must report to their respective colleges with required documents and admission fees during January 18 to January 25, 2025, after downloading the allotment letters.
Online Stray Vacancy Round: Final Opportunity
The Online Stray Vacancy Round is the final stage of NEET PG Counselling 2024. This round is meant to fill any strays left in Round 3.
- Eligibility and Registration
Only those candidates who did not get admission in previous rounds or have withdrawn their seat allotments are eligible to take part in this round. Eligible candidates must register and pay the registration fee by the deadline.
- Choice Filling and Locking
As in Round 3, candidates must exercise extreme care while filling their choices and locking them within the scheduled time.
- Seat Allotment and Reporting to Allotted Colleges
The seat allotment result for the stray vacancy round will be out on February 8, 2025. Candidates allocated a seat in the stray vacancy round must report to their respective colleges by February 15, 2025. Failure to do so will lead to disqualification.
