The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has activated the UPSSSC PET 2026 admit card download link for candidates whose examination is scheduled on October 25, 2026. The link is available on the commission website at upsssc.gov.in and is specifically labelled for the October 25 session.
Candidates need their PET registration number, date of birth, gender and the verification code displayed on the login page. UPSSSC states that an admit card can be downloaded only when the application has not been rejected and the candidate's examination has been scheduled.
UPSSSC PET 2026 exam dates and shift timings
The commission first planned the examination for October 23-25, but a September 25 notice revised the schedule. PET 2026 will now be held on three dates, with two shifts on each day.
| Exam date | First shift | Second shift | Current admit-card status |
|---|---|---|---|
| October 25, 2026 | 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon | 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM | Download link active |
| October 30, 2026 | 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon | 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM | Await the date-specific update |
| November 1, 2026 | 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon | 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM | Await the date-specific update |
The active homepage link is expressly limited to the October 25 examination. Candidates assigned October 30 or November 1 should not assume that the same release applies to them and should monitor the official website for the corresponding admit-card notice.
How to download the UPSSSC PET admit card 2026
- Open the official UPSSSC website at upsssc.gov.in.
- Select the link titled “Download Admit Card for Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2026 (Only for Exam Date: 25.10.2026)”.
- Enter the candidate registration number exactly as recorded in the application.
- Select the day, month and year of birth, followed by gender.
- Type the verification code shown on the page and submit the form.
- Download the admit card and print a clear copy for the examination day.
The commission asks candidates to enter personal details exactly as submitted in the application form. A candidate whose application status is rejected, or whose examination has not yet been scheduled, will not be able to download the hall ticket through this page.
Details to check on the hall ticket
After downloading the admit card, candidates should check their name, photograph, registration or roll number, exam date, shift, reporting instructions, examination district and centre address. The PET advertisement states that candidates must appear at the allotted centre and that requests to change the centre, date or time will not be accepted.
Any discrepancy should be raised through the contact route printed on the admit card or the official UPSSSC website. The public download screen does not provide a separate universal list of identity documents, so candidates should follow the photo-ID and document instructions printed on their own admit card rather than relying on an unofficial list.
UPSSSC PET 2026 exam pattern
| Component | Official provision |
|---|---|
| Question type | Objective multiple-choice questions |
| Number of questions | 100 |
| Maximum marks | 100 |
| Duration | 2 hours |
| Negative marking | One-fourth mark deducted for each wrong answer |
The paper covers history, the Indian national movement, geography, economy, the Constitution and public administration, science, arithmetic, Hindi, English, reasoning, current affairs, general awareness, Hindi passage analysis, graph interpretation and table interpretation. The notification says the difficulty level of the first nine academic sections will follow the NCERT secondary or senior-secondary level, as applicable.
How multiple shifts affect the PET score
Because the examination is being held across several shifts and dates, UPSSSC will use its notified normalisation process for comparative evaluation. Candidates should therefore focus on the questions allotted in their shift rather than comparing raw difficulty immediately after the test.
The PET 2026 notification also states that the score will remain valid for three years from the date on which the commission declares the result or uploads it on its website. Merely appearing in PET does not guarantee selection; the score is used for shortlisting under later UPSSSC recruitment advertisements and their respective eligibility conditions.
