The good aspect of my college is its connectivity to other places and also the college administration is very cooperative which made me choose this college. The admission process is very simple you just have to qualify for the cutoff in CUET (Common University Entrance Test) for this college. Once you appear in the exam DU(Delhi University) will conduct counselling rounds which they call CSAS( Common Seat Allocation System) and will allot the college on a merit basis. I Prepared for CUET with all my class 12 syllabus and NCERT Books. Moreover, mock tests were very beneficial in this regard. Also one can refer to the question banks that NTA(National Testing Agency) releases every year before conducting the examination.
The course I'm pursuing is Political Science Honors. The curriculum includes a wide range of topics such as Comparative Politics, International Relations, Public Administration, Constitutional Development and more. I chose this course because it gives me useful insights into the political and administrative scenario in India and the world. All the teachers are qualified and hold PhD degrees which bring fresh perspectives to the students. Exams are conducted twice in a year with a gap of 6 months each which is called semester exams. We have 2 semesters in a year, also we are provided with assignments regularly to evaluate our performance. Teachers take tests too whose marks are added to the CGPA. The difficulty level of the exam is moderate. You can get through it easily if you get the concepts right.
There is no such placement cell for students from arts backgrounds. However, the college offers placement for technical courses like B com hons which ranges from 6 lpa to 8 lpa. Still, there are chances that students who pursue political science Hons and complete the course with an excellent CGPA can get jobs or internships at the embassy or in cabinet ministries.
I paid a yearly fee of around 11795 which includes development, library, and other college funds. I also paid 1500 as an admission fee which was one time. The fees for the sc and ST category is generally lower by 40% which is around 6600 per year from the general category. There is no scholarship test or aid available for this college. However, in between the semesters, one can avail of various schemes run by Delhi University for fee concession. For eg - FSS(Financial Support Scheme).
Life at the campus is average. There are various societies and clubs in the college but they lack exposure. The social life gets disturbed when DUSU(Delhi University Students Union) Election is about to happen. Fest is generally conducted once a year. It usually takes place in April. The college has a decent library with all kinds of books divided and arranged in proper columns. It also has a good reading area which is reader-friendly. Several sports activities take place when the sports fest is organised. Also, the societies in the college conduct different extra curricular activities like debate competitions creative writing and calligraphy competitions etc.
The college does not have its hostel or pg. One has the look for accommodation near the college area which charges a hefty amount of money with average food quality. It typically ranges between 18000 to 20000 with food and good facilities. The PG has a Wi-Fi facility, clean drinking water,ac/non-AC rooms are available but it's very expensive.
Placement at PGDAV college are average students who have good communication skills internships and extra certification usually gets better opportunities the placement cell is active and organise placement drives , workshops , resume building session and career building guidance student should not have any active backlog
PLACEMENT FOR BBA ARE AVERAGE WITH COMPANIES OFFERING ROLE IN SALES, MAREKTING, HR AND OPERATION. AVERAGE PACKAGE IS AROUND 3 TO 4 LAKH PER YEAR MANY STUDENTS ALSO PURSUE HIGHER STUDIES LIKE MBA TO IMPROVE THEIR CARRER OPPORTUNITIES.
The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
du sol provides placement in news 18, aaj tak and job opportunities as according to the course of student pursuing. just visit to du sol north campus head quarter ask for the facility they will provide . bad thing is they dont provide on regular basis.
The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
