Likes
- The campus during festivities is lit with bright, colourful lights and is a time to have fun.
- The computer systems are up to date with windows 11 but now we use linux for everything so that is a plus point.
- The student life here is one of the best experiences as it teaches every aspect of life.
- The student projects and the research culture here are pretty good.
- There is a buggy service run by a startup inside the campus to make sure the students can reach the academic blocks without any problem.
Dislikes
- The auto fare here is very costly and is not recommended. since the hostel is pretty far from the academic blocks it's a hassle.
- The faculty usually teaches from the PPT and not the blackboard, but it is not much of an issue as they help out in case they do not understand.
Remarks :
The location of the campus is very good and the college life is very exciting. The amount of fun you can have here is unlimited but make sure to put a limit or else the consequences can be very severe. The research culture of this place is also very good with 7-8 running student projects. The faculty is also very helpful if I have to do a research in a specific field. For admission, there is a test called Manipal Entrance Test. The test has JEE Mains syllabus and difficulty. After the test, respective ranks of the students are disclosed and on the basis of those rankings, the branch and campus of the student is determined.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am a student in Information Technology because I liked coding and I wasn't qualified for CSE Core. The course in itself is very similar to CSE Core and faculty are amazing. They help out with any problem the student may face. For every student a mentor is assigned so that in case of a problem or any minor inconvenience, the student can go to them and ask for solutions. The exams are conducted in 2 phase - mid semester and end semester exams. Mid sem exam is of 30 marks per course and endsem is for 50 marks per course. Now the rest 20 marks are for internal assessment which consists of 2 quizzes for 5 marks and 1 assignment for 10 marks. The exams are not that difficult. If the student pays attention in the class, they can pass with flying colors.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities as of now are as follows: Microsoft offered 150000 INR stipend per month for job role of SWE Intern Goldman Sachs offered 150000 INR stipend per month for job role of Data Analyst Uber offered 177000 INR stipend per month for job role of SWE Intern
Placement Experience :
The placement season takes place in the fifth semester and is ongoing for me. Various companies come for internships and there is no such eligibility for placement. However there is an eligibility for each company. Every company decides the cgpa, branch and number of backlogs the student can have. In the first month of fifth semester, around 5 companies have already come like Microsoft, Uber, Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw. The highest package is 51 LPA CTC and average is 13 LPA CTC. My plan is to get a job after my graduation. My friends are planning to prepare for GMAT/GRE.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For first year students the fees is 3,35,000 INR for the first year. After that the fee is different for different course. Computer Related branches tend to have a higher fees then other branches like ECE,EEE,Mechanical and Aeronautical, etc. Scholarship is offered based on the MET( Manipal Entrance Test) and is continued only if the student scores a cgpa of 8.5 or more in that academic year. Failing to do so will result in discontinuation of the scholarship and will not continue even if you score above 8.5 in the next academic year.
Campus Life :
The life in the campus is very good. There is a place called the student plaza and it is the most socially active place as it has shops and food joints. The students come here everyday for food and meetups. There are 2 fests in this college- techfest and cultural fest. The name of the techfest here is TechTatva and the cultural fest is Revels. In the techfest, many technical clubs organize various events and talk shows whereas in the cultural event, the cultural clubs keep our mind off the studies. The main event of these 2 fests is that in TechTatva we call founders and CEOs of well established companies to guide the students on their career paths. In Revels, we bring many artist and creators for a concert show to create a good vibe and enjoy. All the sports facilities are here including gym, boxing ring, squash, swimming pool, indoor basketball court, etc. Everything is present in the sports facility named "Marena". Campus teams are also there and we have our own cricket league.
Hostel Facilities :
There are many messes in the campus so that students can have a mess closer to their hostel block. There are 2 mess providers- The Indian Kitchen and Quess. Food prepared by The Indian Kitchen is better than that of Quess but the ambience in Quess mess(FC1) is much better. The infrastructure is very good and if there is any kind of problem in the room, the caretakers are present to address it and is usually resolved in 2-3 days. To apply for the hostel rooms go to hostel.manipal.edu and sign in to opt in or out of the hostel allocation process. The cost of the room depends on what type of room you pick, the options include double ac attached bathroom, double non ac, single ac and single non ac. There is also option for common bathroom which is way cheap.

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

Eligibility for the placements is 7+ cgpa if you have higher cgpa higher the chances of you getting shortlisted for the interview and it will be easy for you Recuriters visited Cisco,Visa,Emerson,NetApp and many more for the internships and full time Highest package is 56 LPA and average package will be around 10 LPA for the computer science and Engineering for other branches it may vary
