Actually in Smt. CHM College only merit based admission is considered there are no requirement of entrance exams for undergraduate courses. But there is CAT requirement for MBA and MMS course which is of 2years. In undergraduate the highest merit list is only for Accounting and finance course which you can download from merit list section of official website. It is very important to note that in chm college almost 40-50 seats are taken by Sindhi minority also if you focus in the merit the half of the people are from Sindhi minority and these people actually score very well apart from those who take admission in Sindhi caste. It is a great college and some of the faculty from I would like to name them who teaches commerce are Histasha maam, reema maam, Kajal maam, dhiraj sir lecturer, Deepa Soni lecturer, Reshma gurwani maam, KT sir, these are some of the best teachers with the greatest knowledge and support. I am having fun more with teachers then students in terms gaining knowledge.
Aas above I have mentioned above about the faculty info, course curriculum is more on bookish side. Only some of the faculty focus on giving you additional knowledge. All those teachers mentioned above gives you additional knowledge apart from you bookish knowledge. Exams are easier in the College you can actually score very well. Every year has 2 sem and intotal of 6 sem divided into 3 years. Every maam over there is holding a PhD or masters degree. Very high qualified staff with a lods of experience in their portfolio. I one sentence I would say if you want to build networks c Just check out the college especially the staff.
Very less opportunities for internship, genuinely not recommended for people who want to do internship while studying then bro this college is not for you man!!!! They try to provide internship but with very less payment and working for full day along with 6 days a week and approx 10 hours a day which is just waste of time and effort of teenager's.
Basically placement cell of chm college is like invisible, there is no placement cell. HOD of the college try to give graduates job through their network which is around 25-30k for fresher and in the fy and sy internship provided is around 4-5k/month just waste of time and energy. In terms of placement blah chm is just not worthy at all. Ha but I'd you connected with your colleagues and staff of the college you would get a placement through their networks also. Smart way of getting an internship hahaha!!!
So basically I have taken admission into BAF(accounting) undergrad. I have paid 18000approx in the FY though I belong from SC caste. The scholarship Kota doesn't give you proper guidance for filing of scholarship forms. Along with that I have paid 2600 at the time of admission in the course but at the end they said you have you pay fees in full otherwise you won't get your Fy grade card just because I haven't got the scholarship from the mahadbt website. But actually in the prospectus of CHM college the fees for Fy, SY, And TY is mentioned on an average of 2600/year. So if you want to take admission even from caste you have to pay fees in full. The fees for Accounting and finance, banking and insurance, financial markets, financial management, investment management, Management studies all have a approximate fees of 17000-18000 per year and for 3 years it would come around 45000 for three years. Only bcom has fees somewhat around 5500.
Hahaha campus life in chm college is like you are roaming and traveling every but eventually same place. The campus will be crowded from morning 6 to evening 5pm. There are a lots of students actually thousand of students in the college. Each every event is celebrated then let it be freshers party, Sindhi fest, traditional day, etc and so on. Sindhi Utsav is the best which keeps going on for atleast 3 days. I am love this college more on the days of event. You also get gym khana in the college and its timing is fro. 10am.to 2pm and.it is crowded everyday and everything. Library is the best but with the most oldest books.of 2013 syllabus. Rotary clubs, NSS clubs etc are also there not that much interesting. Classroom in chm college for commerce grad is very basic which are actually taken in the extension building. Classrooms in short is kind of okaish.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
