- the history behind every building, and how theyve kept the hostel rooms of all the legandary alumni still intact.
- theres so much greenery around the campus and it looks really beautiful specially in monsoon.
- experienced faculty members who arent just masters of their own field but also know how to keep students interested in what they're learning. they make learning fun.
Dislikes
- cleanliness of washrooms is sometimes compromised. one has to struggle a bit to find cleaner washrooms.
- hostels could be better and that would solve accommodation problems for many people around the campus.
Remarks :
Fergusson College needs no introduction for when it comes to the alumni. i was very much attracted to the infrastructure, the way all lectures are conducted in rhe historical buildings all around in the campus. besides being established by most prestigious people such as bal gangadhar tilak, sir agarkar it has kept its name high in quality of education till date. there were no interviews or GD rounds. we had to fill a form and wait for the merit list to arrive, which one it did i directly went to the college and got my admission process finished.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is well divided into semesters and there are 60 credits for each subject which we have to achieve. CEs are conducted for internal marks (20 credit points) and those are purely based on what youve been taught in the past month. the faculty is extremely experienced in their fields. the best thing is, they aren't just teachers but actual working professionals of what they teach us. for example, the professor for journalism is an actual experienced journalist who has been working in that field for 25+ years and we get to learn everything real time. the teachers are really understanding. they keep the classroom environment really light and stress free. on the same hand theyre also very strict about the assignments, and do not tolerate leniency in that matter.
Internships Opportunities :
yes i have opted for 2 internships of 15 days each until now. one of which is paid, yet to end. it offers me 5k-10k on the basis of performance for 15 days of working which according to me is quite a sum. these sort of internships find you in first year itself. with increasing experience and passing time you get higher paid internships. you can also persue off campus technical certification courses that offer you jobs at various renowned companies.
Placement Experience :
placements for media department arent guaranteed on campus. but the faculty is so good that they also make sure that you arent left unqualified for the jobs outside. the faculty gives you enough number of projects, from first year itself that it builds your resume so high that you can get recruited anywhere smoothly.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
i have paid it at once hence i had to pay 65884, for installments students have to meet the vice principal and on her word only one can get the total amount broken in 2 installments or so. besides, for hostel the management does not disclose the exact amount but it goes around 60,000 per year. there are courses divided into two, aided and non aided, where one can avail a fee waiver to some extent. college also provides various scholarships as well as "earn and learn" program within the campus. the base tution fee varies for categories, (gen, obc, sc, nt, etc.)
Campus Life :
the social life of fergussion is nothing short of amazing. besides making new friends in your department, you can befriend students from other departments as well. the non teaching staff is nice and jolly and they talk to you as friends if you talk nicely with them. the seniors are really nice as well, they dont belittle you in any manner but again, ofcourse you have to take care of who to befriend and who not. because just as much as there are good people out there, people with sick mentality and shitty attitudes also do exist. being from the media department, we have a lot of screenings, a fest that usually occurs in the months of nov-dec, and theres an instagram page called "mediaveese" completely managed by the students.
Hostel Facilities :
i haven't opted for hostel or mess, most people dont, because the hostel buildings are old and not just that but the availability and facilities for living arent that good as well. but the food quality from canteen is very good considering its a college thjng, there are 3 canteens and 1 mess overall. all the canteens serve really good food for their prices, and the mess also has a high no. of people showing up.

Placement Offers were Good on Records till now Collage has its own Placement Department. The Placement Department is operated by professionals. It aims at providing placement to students in reputed companies with handsome packages around 80% placement was done in our batch. All the students got chance to prove themselves in campus placements. Companies like Amazon, TCS, IBM, Make my trip, Amazon, flipkart, Infosys, HDFC, ICICI etc. visit the campus offers an average package ranges 3 - 4.5 LPA going on to Highest was 28 - 45 LPA Companies conduct interview sessions, GD, test for selection of students.
The Time I Had Spent in my College

Placement was Good as there is a placement cell in the college that looks on managing placement for students by inviting Companies from different sectors Companies like Amazon Deloitte, Accenture, Reliance, HCL, Hyundai, HDFC bank, YES Bank, Axis bank etc. These companies make a number of offers to students offers an average package ranges 3 LPA and highest was 28 - 32 LPA. Companies conduct interview sessions, practical test, GD for selection of students and students needs to qualify all rounds to get selected also Internship opportunities was provided by college to give students practical experience and to give knowledge. Internship was also provided by college to give students practical experience and knowledge about current changing environment.

Course Curriculum Overview :
i chose computer engineering because i was interested in the technical field and wanted to build my career in engineering. the faculty were qualified and helpful, and their teaching was a mix of thoery ,ppts and practical. term exams were conducted on time and the difficulty was moderate

Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are not so widely discussed by our faculty. My plan after the program is to appear for ugc net exam and to become an assistant professor. The minimum salary for assistance professor post is approx 35000.
CSD at KKWIEER: A perfect blend of tech and creativity

The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.
An industry focused learning experience

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
Reality of niat

no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The number of companies coming for campus placements go down with each passing year. The companies that do come (TresVista mostly) are quite poor in terms of work ethic and payout methods. This year, around 40-45 students from the graduating batch got campus placement out of the 110-120 that applied.

Psychology as a field is highly recognized and growing sector after the lockdown,people are more focused on mental health,thus bhavans was the best option as they have Psychology department set for almost 20years which makes them more experienced. The teaching method of Dr.kranti Gawali the hod is excellent.
