1st month as BA LLB Student
Likes
- The trees and other plants make the university very peaceful and a happy place and we get fresh air
- The classrooms are big and they easily fit upto 80-100 students
- The teachers are really helpful and smart and are really kind
Dislikes
- The classes are non AC so it’s hard to sit in summers
- Sometimes the lunch breaks are just too long even more than an hour long
Remarks :
There were no written test or interviews or discussions.The admissions are based on the marks you scored in 12 (in which every stream you are ) even if you opt medical in 12 you can still apply to this course. The factors that why I chose this college are: - Very Neat and clean -So much better than other college of Amritsar -A lot of trees (I personally love trees) -Affordable -Has a very well name in the country
Course Curriculum Overview :
The subjects that are taught in my course are: 1) Torts 2)Contract Law 3)Pol Science 4)Economics 5)English 6) Punjabi ( Basic is also available but only for other state students ) The reason behind choosing this course was that: 1) It is a easy course 2) Affordable 3) Subjects that are taught will help in day to day life 4) After doing ba llb I can either do my own practice or can be a judge and I can even go to UK to practice law. The Faculty members are really well educated as well and they are really helpful and understanding and they explain us each and every topic twice or thrice until we don’t understand
Internships Opportunities :
I’m a first semester student and I don’t really have that much knowledge on internships and placement but I hope and I believe that it would be good as many of my seniors tell us and teacher also tell us about students who got internships at high courts and in the big companies.
Placement Experience :
There are a lot of job opportunities after the completion of my course but the main three are: 1) Judicial Test 2) Practice in UK 3) UPSC and if you want you can fill other tests too Internships ???? It’s my first month in GNDU and I don’t really know about the internships but I think that many companies come to interview the students and many test are also there through which students can apply internships at high courts and Supreme Court.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees structure is very simple and the per semester instalments are also quite easy to pay and there are not any scholarships that I know of but there are definitely some fees benefits for OBC and SC and other backwards castes. As they have the fees card I guess that is issued in university only if they have there category certificate with them and have the income certificate with income proof.
Campus Life :
The Campus life is very amazing there is no ragging and no body shaming or other things. All the seniors help us and respect us too and there are no fights or any kind of violence. There are a lot of sports to play. We have archery football basketball volleyball and a lot more.There are social groups that are ran by students NCC NSS USSCF GNDU SATH and slot more.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is kind of not the best but it’s alright but if you can’t sleep without an AC I recommend you to not opt an hostel because the hostels only have fans and some students brought there own coolers from home but if you can’t resist the summers without AC take a PG near university.

Placement Experience :
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Life at cgc landran.
Placement Experience :
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.

Internships Opportunities :
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

Placement Experience :
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.

Placement Experience :
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.

Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc

College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys,tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year

Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.

The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement.There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
