I have heard about this college before as it is one of the most famous college of Mumbai. As it was also awarded best college award by University of Mumbai. So I just enrolled my name for the program and waited for the list to declare. Finally my name was there in third list and I took admission.
I choose this course because of its creativity its not like any other course where you have to work on set principles but you have to make one. The faculty here is amazing, qualified and very supportive for all the students. There teaching methods are very helpful and also they teach us to apply the classroom knowledge in real life. So there are two examinations conducted for each semester. The exams are not that difficult, so I'll say its moderately difficult.
There is no such internship opportunities given to us. Very rarely they offer internships that too are not at all related to our field. Thus one have to find internship or job on his/her own way. College is not going to provide you anything like that.
There is no such guaranteed placement or job opportunities given to us. We have to find it on our own. So if I talk about myself I am more interested in pursuing a career in Content Writing hence I found an Internship for the same on my own.
The fees is different for different semesters. It changes on the basis of practicality involved in the subject. If the subject requires more filed or technological knowledge then its generally higher. The fees include library fees as well. Also there is a college scholarship program for the students from economical weaker background.
The campus life in Thakur College is very chill. So we get enough time to follow our hobbies and invest our self in other related things. Thakur College is very famous for its fest. The one is annual college fest called as Tarangan and that is very popular in whole Mumbai. The other departmental fest of Mass Communication named CortoKino is very popular film festival. The library is very huge with treasure of books you can find books here on any possible thing. Classrooms are air conditioned and have projector screens(in selected classrooms). The College is very famous for its sports training some of our college students have won medal for various International Sports events. Extracurricular activities are also there to keep the students aware and confident. Activities like debate, essay writing, singing, dancing etc, are conducted often. If talk about clubs, then there is a whole Cultural Comunity in which there are various option to opt for and explore.
No, I have not opted for the hostel as it was in very condition. I saw that there were around 10 to 12 people sharing a hall room with only two toilets. And no food service is provided over there. So it is my advice to never opt for college hostel.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed

Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
