So for getting into this college you have to give an entrance exam named cuet - common university entrance test for ug courses it would be cuet ug and for pg courses it would cuet pg. You have to appear for that after 12th and then after the announcement of result you can register yourself on csas portal of delhi university and fill up the preference list accordingly. Then you will be allotted the college according to your preference list as well as cut off of the courses as well as colleges. So the cut off for bcom program in daulat ram college was around 745 for general caste around 680 for obc and relatively less for sc/st castes. There were no GD or personal interviews while admission you only have to pay the fees for freezing your seat. So admission is done in three phases if you don't want to accept the seat alloted in the first round you can upgrade your seat and get the colleges above the alloted college in preference list
As I was from the commerce background. I wanted to pursue bcom hons but due to the high cut off for bcom hons I was alloted bcom program. I am pursuing CA with my bcom . As the syllabus of bcom and ca are somehow similar so it made me choose this program. The faculty of commerce department is very helpful and frank here which creates a holistic environment in the college . They not only teaches on just theory level but also practically. So I would say the best part here is the faculty . So the exams are conducted twice. One in December and January and the other in June and July. The difficulty level of first year is easy but is moderate for second year students. Doing pyqs will help a lot.
Our college provides numerous internships. It also hosts an event every year for internships named as incrementum in which companies are there and student can apply to any company they want on the spot. Some companies which came for interns were unstop , finoak, insplore consultants, purple sketch digital and some ngos also visited our college like pehchan the street school and umeed the drop of hope. The stipend provided were different for the posts like avg stipend was around 5 to 10k and highest was around 40k. The interns were hired for finance, hr, sales as well as operations which helped them to hone their skills
There is no specific eligibility criteria for placement. One have to be in its 3rd year to sit for the placements . DRC is known for its placements as well. The companies which visited for recruitment were ey , pwc, deloitte, kpmg , de shaw India, Accenture and many reputed companies recruited students from our college. The highest package offered this year was around 23 lpa and the average package offered was 6.5 lpa around 50 % students got placed. The profiles offered were hr manager, finance analyst, data analyst etc. I am pursuing ca right now and will see afterwards . I have now cleared my ca foundation and preparing for ca inter.
So the fees varies according to the courses. There is no such concession based on the castes. The fees will be same for all. So in my first year I've paid 33700 (this is of bcom program) and in the second year I've paid 31100 which includes all the types of fees like admission fees, tuition fees etc. For life science course it is around 25000 and for ba program the fees will be relatively less . The college doesn't provide any scholarships of its own but one can avail the benefits of government provided scholarships here. There is no financial aid available for merit cum need students.
As daulat ram college is one of the esteemed and reputed college of delhi university and it lies under north campus. You can definitely experience diversity here and get more exposure here because all the colleges are very close to each other creating a student life environment here. You can even attend the wonderful fests that happen in these colleges .Drc hosts one of the best fests in the north campus named manjari and invites popular singer like akhil, inder chahal and many more. There are two fests conducted the first Is manjari in Feb- March and the other is diwali fest that is jalsa. There are many societies in our college and almost every society is active . Some of the societies are cyber cell , placement cell , global association of economic education. Joining them will upskill yourself and will help in communicating as well as marketing. The library is my favorite place of college ,it is well maintained. The sports and eca also contributes actively
I am a day scholar. I have not opted for hostel so I may not be able to tell you in detail about the hostel but I've heard that it is very nice having all the facilities, amenities like clean rooms, washrooms acs are available in the hostel
IGNOU offers limited direct campus placement opportunities, but the degree is widely recognized and helps improve employability. Students mainly secure jobs through off-campus applications, competitive exams, or by upgrading their skills. The flexible learning system allows learners to work, prepare for higher studies, or pursue professional certifications alongside their course. IGNOU also conducts periodic placement drives through its Campus Placement Cell.
The internship opportunities are mainly available for the commerce departments and many companies also come to offer internships here. For humanities departments to internships comes mainly from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and home ministry.
The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.
Placement at PGDAV college are average students who have good communication skills internships and extra certification usually gets better opportunities the placement cell is active and organise placement drives , workshops , resume building session and career building guidance student should not have any active backlog
PLACEMENT FOR BBA ARE AVERAGE WITH COMPANIES OFFERING ROLE IN SALES, MAREKTING, HR AND OPERATION. AVERAGE PACKAGE IS AROUND 3 TO 4 LAKH PER YEAR MANY STUDENTS ALSO PURSUE HIGHER STUDIES LIKE MBA TO IMPROVE THEIR CARRER OPPORTUNITIES.
The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
