There is not any specific entrance exam for the students seeking admission in Kumaon university. The placements are made on the basis of the percentage of the students that they acquired in their board exams of 12th standard. The admission process of the college is very easy, the students do not have to carry out multiple rounds in college roaming here and there for admission. The staff and students are very helpful specially for the new students as well as at the time of admissions.
The course that I had pursued is the bachelor of commerce because I had a clear cut vision of making my future in the banking sector and that's the main reason for adopting this faculty. The staff , teachers and their teaching method is really very well especially from my expectations. Earlier I thought that being a government college it would not be that much spoon feeder but it's really nice to see such a friendly and experienced staff of the university. The exams are conducted as same as of other universities or colleges that is after 6 months.
The college do not provide any campus placements . I prefer that the university should work on this phase. The college has a vast variety of courses and staff is really very good so it can easily afford campus placements. This would rather attract more students in the college.

The campus is situated at a hill place though there is a lot greenery in the college leading to a very pleasant, healthy and cosy environment. There is a unique kind of freshness in the college at morning time due to such forestry. Recently the 'Gunj fest' was organised in the college for students and it was really a very very pleasant experience to attend that fest. The fest was of two days and the chief guest of the fest were Maya Upadhyaya and Shweta Mehra and they both set up the moon on the fest. The Library of the college has a vast variety of books available for each and every minute course as well as other competitive exams. The college pays a very special attention on both sports as well as co-curricular activities. The most popular social group of the college are the Naval as well Army NCC.
Yes I have opted the government hostel of the college. There are 4 hostels of the university: Gaura Devi hostel Kamla Pant hostel Rani Laxmi Bai hostel Keinfield hostel(for boys) The admission process for hostel are comparatively competitive. The seats are allotted on the basis of percentage of the students that they acquired in their 12 th board examinations. The food quality of the mess of hostels are very good . I really thought before that they would not be so good but believe me it's same sa that of homes.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
