To take admission in Delhi University and its affiliated colleges you have to give the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Once you gave the exam, you need to register yourself in the DU CSAS portal to partake in the admission process. Upon the announcement of the results, students then need to fill their course & college preferences in order. After this, the first allotment list is rolled out with the cut offs. Students have a choice to accept or upgrade their college to participate in the subsequent rounds. The cut off for Zakir Husain Delhi College, Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in the first round was 687. The whole admission process was quiet simple and fully online. You can refer to the Bulletin of Information available on the DU CSAS portal. The college has its pros and cons. The campus size is huge with an old infrastructure which is poorly maintained. There is a new building which has not been opened yet. Campus life is active with a diversity in students.
I chose this course because of my passion in Finance, Accounting and Logistics. The course curriculum is extensively designed to prepare students for the world of commerce and application of management principles. The faculty is highly qualified with a legit bachelors and masters degree in the course they teach. The teaching methods used are traditional but provides expansive knowledge of the subjects with general theory lectures as well as practical lab classes to teach students the real world applications. The term examinations are held at the end of semesters which gives students ample time to prepare and the difficulty level is medium to hard which can be achieved by attending lectures regularly and focusing in class.
Many internship drives are arranged in college for students of various courses. Recently, internship drives with Taxmann group and Octo were arranged with an attractive stipend of 30,000. The stipend lies between 10,000 to 30,000 monthly.
The placements and job opportunities offered are decent. Students are eligible for placements from the 5th semester onwards. Students who score a cgpa above 8 end up getting attractive placements. Top recruiters who made their offers on campus are Google, Genpact, Amazon, ICIC and Kotak. The highest package went upto 25,00,000 pa and average package lied between 3,00,000 to 5,00,000 pa. In 2022, 361 students got placed while in 2023, 294 students got placed which shows a decline in placements. Average percentage of students getting placed is around 75% which varies every year on the quality of students. My plans after the degree is to continue with my Chartered Accountant exams and pursue a MBA degree in the foreseeable future.
The year-wise fees I paid is 14,000 for Bachelor of Commerce (Hons). It varies from course to course. There is no additional fees, everything is included in the yearly fee. The fee of my other batchmates is the same as me except Pwd students. There are no specific scholarships but during admission in University of Delhi there is Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme for the students.
The annual fest of Zakir Husain Delhi College is called “Zeenat” held in the months of February to April. Many other cultural fests of Delhi University are also held in the same months. There is a wide and diverse range of books available in the library of different categories such as Commerce, Literature, Psychology etc. Basic amenities like working appliances, projector screen and white board are available in the classrooms. The campus doesn’t have sports amenities like a football field, basketball ground etc. but the Football Club of the college is active during competitions and sports events. Many student run societies and clubs are available for students to explore their creativity as well as intellect. Cultural societies such as dance, singing and acting as well as social impact societies such as Enactus and NSS are available.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
du sol provides placement in news 18, aaj tak and job opportunities as according to the course of student pursuing. just visit to du sol north campus head quarter ask for the facility they will provide . bad thing is they dont provide on regular basis.
The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
