This college is renowned and is situated in a great environment. I Have heard quite good reviews so that is why i chose this college. My elder brother studied from here Nd by the experience he shared i wanted to attend my graduation here. As of the admission process it was purely on the basis of cutoff. And document verification no kind of interview or written test of any sort were needed or asked. Admission is either by cut off or sports quota and other kinds only. But i also believe that if you have powerful contacts you can easily secure your seat in this college without much hassel. The college also takes into consideration your extra courses or side diplomas if any. The most important factor which gets you selected are the good grades in the 10th and 12th class. Most of the students are merit holders. Also the college increases its cut off every year to ensure more and more studious devoted and aspiring students get the admission and the college decorum is maintained.
I chose this course, i.e. , Bcom because i was from a commerce background and further wanted to do MBA. This college provides a great insight in the said field. The fact that new subjects are taught every six months is something that attracted me the most in my course. The faculty members are mostly PHD and they are extremely smart. They have written books in their subjects as well and sometimes teach the students from them so as to give a little personal touch. It also allows students and teachers to bond and understand better. The techniques are basic like class interaction and tests. No high tech skills are used such as computers or projectors. Traditional teaching methods are opted. The exams for the terms happened after four months of starting a new semester. The exams are held for a month and a half at most and then relaxation leaves for half a month ,i.e. , 15 days before starting the new session. The difficulty level of exams was 30% easy 40% medium and 30% tough to see calibre
I have not opted for any internship or company as i am preparing for MBA entrance exams and want to focus completely on that. A friend of mine did internship with red bull and then further secured a job there. She is earning around 30000 per month there. But the job she secured was on her own and not from the help of the college
There is not any working placement cell in the college and there are no companies that come and interview students for placements. This is one huge drawback that is faced by everyone. But the internship programs are shared in whatsapp groups among students from time to time which helps at some extent. After graduation many students join the company where they worked as an intern or apply from the job websites or articles. Majority of bachelor students go for higher studies or competitive exams to secure a better job. But from the college’s end there is no facility provided for students have job as the placement cell is not functioning at all.
The admission fees is around 15000 and per year you have to pay 25000 for the course and and additional 6000 for examination fees per semester. The students with quotas get to pay less fees. It keeps increasing by 2000-3000 rs every year. No scholarships are provided in this college. The fees structure of the college varies from course to course and also its duration. Course like BCA and BA are cheaper as compared to BCom and BSc. Also diploma courses are available and masters too. Masters courses are the most expensive. There is also an applied fine system. After every two semesters there is a fine posted on your college portal respective id which you have to pay which further provides you with a no due certificate. This certificate is to be carried to the examination halls so that the examiner knows that no due fees or fines are there and the student can sit in the exam and attempt without any problem.
The college has one fest called Karvaan which is a 3 days long fest. It is mostly conducted in the month of march or april. The student run groups also perform in them such as dance clubs, music clubs fashion club etc. Western and folk both aspects of all the near by states like Haryana punjab himachal. Apart from that the campus life is pretty entertaining there is always something happening in the college. Like seminars flash mobs blood donation camps etc. College trips organised by students are also the best of experiences to have. There is a sports day held every year in January around republic day and all the students as well as teaching and non teaching staff participates which binds everyone as one. As for the library. It is pretty big with 3-4 floor and also a separate reading and studying hall for those who dont want to sit in the library all of it fully AC. THE LIBRARY is filled with accurate and appropriate books students can easily find whatever they need and whenever.
I was not a hostler but a friend of mine was so i can provide info on that basis. The food quality is okayish not that good but not that bad. There is a proper food menu given with food assigned for every day. It has breakfast lunch snacks in evening and dinner. The rooms are on sharing basis. The hostel rooms are of two types AC and non AC and each has different fees. The hostel is pretty affordable and costs around 6000 per month maybe with food and everything. If not hostel then there are various numbers of PG and rooms to rent around college with great environment they also go for approximately 6000/7000. The locality is pretty good and safe. The rooms are available readily. Also the food and wifi etc , i.e. , essential amenities are provided along. Many college students are either living in hostel pg or rented rooms.
College offers on campus placements opportunities in the 4th year of the course . Many reputed companies like Apple , Amazon , PhonePe , Maruti Suzuki etc visits campus for rhe placements. Highest and average package is around 60 lakhs and 17 lakhs respectively . 90 % students got placed this year
Placement and job opportunity is good because in civil engineering placement are good this college is better than many government college if no campus placement is offered than I prep for government exam connected to engineering like ies and many other best engineering government job
I don't have much idea about eligibility criteria because I have been in the clg 3 months. Company like Jp Morgan godrej britannia etc are the tip recruiters in our branch. This semester My H and Q company have given intern to many students. I am planning for government jobs. 40% of students are places in my branch.
Placemnts are better than other nits like hamirpur nit Jalandhar and nit kurukshetra also better than some private college like thapar its avg is like 13 lakh and median is 12 lakh for electrcal its same median avg is 14.5 and cse avg goes 20+ and ai avg 19 lakhs
placements are good and you can get the official data on college websity of my branch 94 placed out of 127 and avg package is 13.1 and median is 12 lpa but cse avg this year goes 20 + lpa but lower branch like civil has some low placemnt stats as many students go for foriegn ms or higher studies or gate psu from civil
Placements are average on comparison with other private colleges around here Highest package this year - 11.3Lpa The teachers help very much in placements and internship . The TPC cell of the college is dead for their work
The placement rate of chitkara is great from the starting of third year you can apply for placements . Various companies like Wipro, hero, Tata motors, Reliance, Lenovo visits for placements. The average package is around 8 lpa and heights is 45 lpa, from the college there are 100% placement rate.
There is minimum 4 months of internship we have to do in 6th semester and on campus opportunities is very good. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Atlassian, BMW, jp Morgan, AMEX came with highest package of 86 LPA
I was never interested in this course but due to family stress I was forced to do this and later on it was much intrested than any other subject. The beginning and end of universe is all what engineering teaches us and if somebody will find it not interesting then he should cut himself from this world.
The placement is quite very low for my department and my course. University is practicing for encouraging more companies for our course placement. It is improving but now the placement is low for my course . Like from last year only 5 were placed out of 60.
