- The college is set an scenic spot and the climate is great, the faculty is approachable
- The infrastructure is good and modern, with Hitech labs and fast wifi speeds and the campus life is also great on basis of your circle
Dislikes
- The dislike is that there are alot of rules and regulations where you have to dress accordingly and no slippers allowed inside academic block
- The campus life is good but local crowd creates the most chaos in the campus
Remarks :
The factors I chose were that is the Goodwill of Manipal and being mostly for the Tech degree, I chose a tech degree, my admission was done On basis of PI, and I prepared it via multiple Ted talks and YouTube videos
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because from 2023 BCA is also a technical degree and the syllabus we do is almost as of BTECH CSE and a tech degree is a must in the new era, the duration is also short, so I chose this
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, I did and intership for Backend developer and my stipend was 15000, my works was to create a database for the log in and sign up on the website of FORUM IAS an edtech company which I got on my own, the college didn't help in that.
Placement Experience :
The college offers good placements, the companies like JSW, Amazon, Google, Accenture etc. come for company placement and avg package goes 6LPA and Highest was 65LPAa and the lowest is 3-4LPA, though the internship is not very good you will have to find it yourself, my plan after this degree is either going for MBA or doing an LL.B
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year wise fees is great as per the facilities of labs and internet facilities and and the environment there in the college is very good, the crowd is a bit Sikkimese but most of them are day scholars, the scholarship offered is on basis of class 12th marks and EWS category basis and on Merit basis the fee for SQC (Sikkim.Quota Students) is almost half as of other state students.
Campus Life :
The social life is great as there is a Nescafe in the campus, movie screening is done in the college amphitheatre every Saturday, there are special screenings of Cricket matches and IPL matches, there are numerous clubs and each have their significant in the college activities and the college has separate websites for Admission purposes and another website for the record of Attendance and Internal marsk, which is updated on regular basis for the students to check for issues.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, I am a hosteller it is quite affordable if you go for NON AC rooms though you will not need an AC in the climate there in Sikkim,.I opted for single room, you can go for single room as well but the room is quite good enough to accommodate two, the washroom is attached is inside the room and housekeeping is done two days a week and you can choose on which days you want cleaning to be done of washroom and the room

Placements and job opportunities are given to students after their completion of internship some may get the opportunity in between their internship,like recently our department seniors were gone for their internship and they are receiving amount of stipend in their internship at around 7000 rupees which was good thing for them

No guarantees . There is no placement guarantee in our college if you pass you pass their is no guarantee that you'll get a job after the college i have seen my seniors driving taxi after college and I'm afraid

Although the college claims 100 percent placements. I have seen my seniors running and applying for job interviews here and there. However i feel only 50- 60 percent gets placed by the college campus interview. But also there are many opportunities outside the college so one doesn't have to worry for placements.

Yes we do have internship program. If you do diploma you will get one OJT that can vary upon the field of your interest such such you want to move to another location or not And if you are not diploma then you get one OJT plus last 9 months of internship then placement.

So the University doesn't have any sort of Placement Cell however the student body has assured that they will make it work and resume it soon. But as of now not having Placement benefit is a disadvantage. However, if you're good enough to crack NET exams and some other entrances than even some of the private universities can take us into consideration. I'm planning to crack NET and continue with PhD if I get a chance otherwise I'll have to crack good amount of entrances.
