Sikkim Manipal University is the region's first public-private partnership, founded in 1995. SMU has been approved by the Government of India and is recognized by the University Grants Commission. It is the country's first-ever Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) for higher education and health care. Sikkim Manipal University Scholarships

Sikkim Manipal University grants several merit based scholarships to students. Students can also avail governmental scholarships, however, they are not regulated by the institute. Some of the scholarships offered at SMU are detailed below.
