Firstly, it was the travelling convenience. The college is just 5 minutes from Azad Nagar Metro Station, so it was super convenient for the students to travel. The second factor was the fees. It was very low compared to other colleges. Also, degree from Bhavans is well-known as it's a very renowned college in the vicinity. The admission was done on the basis of cut-off and it was completely online. One just have to come for document submission and then done! Also, the fee depends on which category you are choosing, aided or unaided. My third year fee was high because three of the six subjects in it was unaided, so they took that extra charge. However, I have heard that from this year, there are entrance exams scheduled for some of the courses, like management. So I would suggest going to their site for more information on the entrance exam.
The course was very well-designed and the syllabus included was highly compatible. There are no extra subjects to study for credit scores, which is something nice to hear. The faculty of the course is highly qualified and approachable. The head of the psychology department, Dr. Kranti Gawali, is very experienced and is a part of this college for around 20 years or more. The other faculties are also very friendly and helpful. Exams were distributed as internals and externals for a total of 100 marks. Internal includes class tests and assignments, which accounts for 40 marks in total. External includes semester examinations which is for 60 marks. The exams are easy and is based on the syllabus itself.
The college does not provide any placement after Bachelor's so I cannot provide much information on it. However, I have heard from my seniors that they got internships and placements from mental health hospitals or as a school counselor. I completed my graduation and now I am studying for my masters, i.e., MSc in Clinical Psychology, from Amity University.
The first year fee was 4000/-, second year was 8000/- and the fee for third year was 36500/- approximately. The fee for third year was higher because the course I did was professional, i.e., Psychology. There are also scholarship for girl students and also for SC/ST category.
Bhavans hosts a massive inter-college fest, known as 'O2 The Fest' and I am a proud member of it. It includes number of events of cultural, sports, arts, literature to name a few. It is a great experience and skill developer and I would urge every student to take a part in it. It is conducted in the month of December, but the registration for being a member starts in August.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
