I wanted to apply for Mechanical Engineering college, because Computer science was overhyped. Also, Mechanical engineering field is evergreen field. We can do any type of work. We use electronics, design software, programming, machine programming etc. I got admission through MHT-CET.
The faculty are well educated with field experience. All the professors are PHD holder and associate professors are MA degree holders. Each semester we used to go on field trip to gain hands in knowledge. We have internship opportunities of 6 months long from college in final semester. And the academic curriculum was upto the mark of IIT. IIT professors were included to form our curriculum.
College had made compulsory internship for final year student in his/her last semester. I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
